But by your logic of English football being so much superior to Scottish football then it should be no problems for giants like Southampton, Wigan and Charlton to storm Europe with abandon when they reach the echelons of the EPL. An English team should be winning the CL every year by this same logic, how many attempts have Arsenal/Chelsea had at winning it and failed? Also, UEFA have basically fixed it for countries like England to do well in Europe. Four teams either automatically qualify or are given an easy route to the Champions League. And how many go into the Europa League? And despite being the richest league in the world and "the best" according to some, since the inception of the Champions League English teams have won it only three times in 19 attempts. In that time Spanish teams have won it SEVEN teams and Italian teams have won it FIVE times. As for Southampton, it's a club steeped in mediocrity.
London has had 2 teams free entry as you call in the champions league for a long long time now , yet never won it, even with all the resources in world to go with it .
