Actually, it was "in the process of courting." There must be a manual :)

Sure, you show up at her door wearing your best frock coat and top hat, take her hand and help her up onto your horse-drawn carriage, go for a ride around the park and have her home by 8 o'clock sharp. You then write a letter to her parents asking for permission to propose, and if they say yes, you wed at once. You may then procreate.

I wooed the very lovely Mrs Gooders:emoticon-0115-inlov.

It was bloody hard work because at first she didn't want to know but it was more than worth the effort.

I actually used 'courting' the other day in conversation and my kids said, "what?"

No joke, there is a "Let My People Go"-style plague of goddamn locusts here right now. This is the craziest thing.

http://tinypic.com/r/6789xw/8 This is out in the desert here, a place called Salmi. The place is swamped with them.

I witnessed a plaque of ladybirds in Cromer, Norfolk 2/3 years ago. It was incredible.

There was a plague some years back on the South Coast. There were so many and they were so hungry, they were biting people. Don't know what caused it...personally I blame the French :)

I was on Cres once (Croatian island) and there was a plague of large furry caterpillars. Consequently there was a large amount of pretty voracious beetles that were feeding on them. Apparently it happened about every 12 years. Interesting place, with some great wildlife.

The beetles sound like cicadas. Funny enough I've also been on a Croatian island which is full of them, and it was just after they all shed their old shells, so every tree was covered in empty cicada shells. Awesome sight.

They do come out about once every twelve years, as they spend most of their lives underground.

Actually I just looked it up and cicadas just seem to eat tree sap.
