Also at Horton Heath near Fair Oak. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/112...ed_in_immigration_raids_at_county_car_washes/

Interestingly, the Horton Heath site is the same place that Avram Grant went to for a "massage" after a particularly taxing training session when he was with Pompey.
Not sure if Avram got his car cleaned at the same time though.

I do agree with a lot of what the Green Party stands for, it's just that it's unaffordable. The only way they'd be able to afford it is by having really high taxes, and say what you like about the top rate of tax being lowered to 45p, but it encourages businessmen to come and invest in the UK and create jobs, and lowering the rate will make people less likely to avoid paying tax. Loads of musicians emigrated in the 1970s due to Labour's tax rates.

There was something in the news recently about the Green Party needing to raise council tax in order to afford the public services. Fair enough waning to stay true to your commitments, but it's taking more of people's money and the rise was so much that a referendum is needed to get the voters to consent to the rise before they can raise council tax!

Ten wards in my district announced, looks like it's going to go Conservative, or possible a NOM with Conservatives holding the most seats.

Hope the conservatives are voted out in my ward at least.

Hurrah, my entire ward is now full of Indies (well I say Indies, they're a residents association or whatever, but either way it's good!)

Interestingly, the Monster Raving Looney Party candidate nearly got as many votes as one of the Labour candidates! <laugh>

It's hard to put into words how pleased I am that First Capital Connect have lost their Thameslink contract. They define incompetency.

It would be good if we get many more "Indies" as you have phrased them to stand and be supported instead of people voting slavishly for one of the two main political parties. I don't mean UKIP!! Having said that, an Indie needs a lot of financial support to be able to topple a mainstream candidate!!,

Boris is a complete showman and he knows and loves it!! Don't for a minute think he actually believes in his utterances - same with Farage, an opportunist who sees a gap in the political and is fully expoiting it to make a name for himself. A more genuine politician is Bill Cash!!! Not that I agree with any of his views but I think he is genuine in what he believes in.

What have you got against Milliband Tom?? I am no Conservative but in no way would I give Cameron that label either. Both these guys have a good intellect and generally display a lot of thought as they argue a point.

The point I'm making is about the way they speak. Most modern politicians use the same techniques when speaking (using pseudo-business-speak and talking about "challenges" and "delivering", using obviously pre-prepared statements and talking around the general topic a question relates to rather than actually answering it, repetition of phrases like "It's right that we...", refusing to fully accept any criticism or say anything negative unless they absolutely have to). These are no doubt techniques they've been taught in some kind of media handling training and there are fairly good reasons for using them. Most statements by politicians are hugely over-analysed these days and using these techniques - especially when defending something you don't really agree with - means that you're less likely to say something stupid. The down side is that you sound unnatural and very much the same as most other politicians so people begin to switch off. It's a little like the way most modern sportsmen have been media trained out of saying anything remotely interesting in interviews.

Farage and Boris don't really do these things (or at least don't do them as obviously or often); they speak in a more natural way. This means they're more likely to say stupid things (Farage's recent "You know what I mean" line, Boris describing his £250,000 a year salary for writing a column in the Telegraph as "chicken feed") but in some ways these mistakes actually work in their favour. Other politicians move in for the kill and blow these mistakes out of all proportion. Large chunks of the public get irritated by this and Boris/Farage often end up with MORE support as a result of their "gaffe".

I wouldn't call Ed Miliband a twat, I just don't think he's an effective leader, and he's got an incompetent Shadow Chancellor next to him. Think Miliband wants to take Labour back to a true centre-left position, but doesn't want to lack the appeal to the swing voters in the middle (like me!), but New Labour's bad legacy still remains.

If you're a true swing voter, you would have voted for New Labour.
