And yet a player who's been a flop in the SPL and was knocked back by Danish side Copenhagen is a success in your Championship.

Your league is just over-rated crap full of diddy teams with overpaid and over-rated players.

And yet the SPL's all-time top scorer was a massive flop in the Championship.

The difference is I know that the SPL is poor.

I'm not trying to bash the SPL anyway mate, I live in Edinburgh too and have a soft spot for Celtic as quite a few of my pals support them.

I think it's just a simple case of some players being right for certain clubs at certain times - that seems to be the case with Jos anyway

Pierre van Hooijdonk is an exception. He was class at Celtic and at every club he was at before and went to after.

His career record is staggeringly good by the way:

For club - 551 appearences, 348 goals
For country (Holland) - 46 appearences, 21 goals

He must be one of the most under-rated strikers of all time.

yawn, more scottish people getting over-defensive sticking up for their league because they know its dull. The championship is the best, most closely fought, tightest and most exciting league in the UK.

First of all I've already said the SPL was poor (see post #82). And I'm sorry, but the Championship is crap. I've watched loads of Championship games and they've mostly been dull and unattractive. It's a bit like the EPL. Overhyped by the English media and television into something that thinks it's better than it actually is.

Sorry, you are completely wrong.

I've had a season ticket for many decades now, and most recently over the last 5 or 6 years, I have watched my fair share of Championship games and I can tell you with confidence that the league is far from dull and unattractive.

I think that if you find The Championship unatttractive, it either means one or both of two things. 1] You're fed up with football in general. Quite understandable, anybody can off things, and/or 2] You have absolutely no emotional connection with The Championship, as a league. I think that's probably a bit nearer to the truth. Things are always better when there's a knowledge of the stakes involved, and when your team is playing for them. Watch a few Saints games. You won't need emotional attachment to find them entertaining.

Footballers are no different to the rest of us - we have all worked in places that where we haven't felt valued or properly supported. Yet moving to another employer where everything clicks then you flourish and become a top performer.
Footballers are no different
I would feel better with NA as my boss rather than that little gob ****e Lennon!

Worse league ive seen is the italian tbh, far to many over the hill players still playing. Every club is basically bankrupt and still spending.
Scottish is ok but i would call it at the same level as the championship.
The prem used to be the best but to many foreigners and greed is slowly killing it.
The spanish league is were the best football is played but only really has two teams.
I can see a super league being made in the next five to ten years tbh.

As I have Freesat, I can occasionally tune into Sportscene, if I choose. I don't. I've watched it several times, and the level of football is surprisingly poor. It's a poor man's Championship, if it reaches that level. Actually, it's the lack of competition that really pulls it down rather than anything else.

Hmm true i guess without rangers and celtic it would be league one/ two stuff.

You can't call someone wrong on what is a subjective issue. If I don't think that Championship football is up to much that's my opinion.
