That's just the den, that our players struggle with nearly every season.yet we have been better every season the league don't lie.
Performances have to start improving, McDermott is very cautious in his approach albeit he doesn't have the most talented lads to work with but if he can add a few and get them playing a bit they will do ok this season still I think..it will have to improve quick though.
At this rate in about a years time we're going to be saying 'We should of kept McDermott' just like fans were saying 'we should of kept Grayson' when Warnock got the sack. Fans complain about modern football where managers get a few months to impress but the second they have a bad run they start calling for their managers head. How about we stick with the same manager once through good and bad patches for once? It's only taken a handful of defeats and draws and fans are already whinning about BMD's signings and it's only bloody October, wtf happened to the 3 years plan?!
Nobody wants rid of McDermott, yet. However it is the reality of modern football that fans and owners in particular look for success quickly, despite what they may say in public. Heck, even winning the cl wasnt enough to save the Chelsea managers job. So what options are available to an owner if results go sour, he's going to change personnel which will either be new players or manager. Our lot are skint so it wont be a change of playing personnel. I want McDermott to be kept for three years as much as anyone, but without a dramatic improvements in results, he will be made the scapegoat as has happened to hundreds of managers before him. There are currently only nine managers in entire league of over ninety clubs that have served three years or more with same club so McDs chances dont look great
