McDermott didn't like to splash the cash at Reading. Imagine if there was a shed load of money, but McDermott was too shy to use it <laugh>

He didn't like to splash the cash at Reading because they didn’t' have that much<ok>

Believe it or not, but that would have been so much better<laugh>

Guys, let's not get too excited about whether or not the money is there. GFH have said quite clearly that BMD has the capacity to bring a player or two in. The problem is two fold; are the players that he wants actually available, and do they want to come to Leeds? In my mind, the answers are probably not, and maybe not.

BMD has two weeks to try and bring in some width. But the bigger problem as I see it is getting players to do what they're supposed to. 3 players trying to tackle one from the opposition, whilst a 2nd opposition player stands on his own in the penalty area, then receives the ball to score. Why didn't one of our three stay with the spare man? Basic defending!!!

Hunt should go back to the development squad, at least to get his confidence back. Depending on your point of view, either Varney or Poleon should partner Ross up front. Poleon will be the class act of the side in a year or so, but in my view, he's not enough of the finished article to guarantee to start each week.

In midfield, you can make a case for Diouf or Tonge or Murphy, but you can't make a case for all three to start, given that Mowatt will retain his place and Austin is both the powerhouse in midfield and the club captain. I also think Brown should start in place of Green.

The reason he's in this mess now of not being able to find the loan players is that during the entire summer proper funds weren't available to make proper signings. Everyone knew las May the size of the rebuilding job required but what did we get? Crap like Smith and Hunt masquerading as signings and now we're expecting magical freebies to appear. Couldnt be arsed paying 600k for Burke? McDermotts after match comment “Over the next two weeks we’ll train, try to find some players and work with the team we’ve got.” does not fill me with any confidence at all

This is all part of a process Eire. Top 6 is still a reasonable and achievable target. We need to just tweak things a bit AND get people doing what they're paid to do. Even old red nose wouldn't have been able to legislate for such woeful defending as we saw for their first goal. After that, it all became very difficult, even more so after their 2nd.

We're getting there and we have the basis for a decent side. We lack width and BMD is still trying to piece everything together. Given what he was left, it's going to take time.

can only speak for us tc, but we're crap in almost every match and need a lot more than a couple of players. We'll be just about good enough to stay up. You must be worried though as the table clearly shows over the first quarter of the season, you are clearly worse than us TC

If this is truly the case then I ask this question - Hunt and Smith - We can't sign better than that?

Exactly a point I made in another post, if we can't score against your defence what chance have we got.

well if you win all three would give you 11 pts against playing the same teams to our 10pts.but anything less and you are confirmed as the worst team.
