Agree. I think for the sake of this board, it's about us all being able to have our say without getting upset with each other.
Let me just clarify this point. I'm not talking about the people who criticise the club but who are obviously fans. Whilst I don't always like the negativity, I've always been consistent in saying that everyone should be allowed to express their opinion. However, I do think that our current plight has seen a number of wums joining our board to simply stir up ill feeling and use the tension between fans to pursue their wumming agenda. It was these people that this comment was aimed at. I know we've had tension on this board, but I'm hoping that despite our differences of opinion, the real fans amongst us can recognise that it comes from the passion for our club and debate with each other without getting uptight and upset with each other.
ha! would sound pretty epic. the acoustics in there are fantastic. i think there's been a staunch return to the feelings of the beginning of the season, and it's only going to get worse if at the end of January there are no new faces and the club finish outside the top4. In all honesty, if the club doesn't get top4, i can see Wenger being forced to go.
AFCFTW - I see your point but disagree. Most of those disillusioned enough to speak up repeatedly highlight the problems, we comment on how things transpired and often offer suggestions as to how they could've been avoided or fixed. It is very rare that someone comes on here and says blah blah is crap without saying why or criticises the manager without saying why. These are valid comments. It's just as soon as people criticise the club, manager, board or players we are accused of not being proper fans, fakes, plastics. There are many great things about Arsenal FC but there are many bad things too and we must not focus on what we did in the past because that is just it .. the PAST. Liverpool haven't won the league for over 20 years .... what a fall from grace.
I disagree. If Arsenal had sacked Wenger four years ago, I don't think we would have been playing Champions League football by now. Any other manager coming in would have been subject to the same financial constraints. I think Wenger has done well with what he's had.
It is hypothetical, ultimately it's just my opinion. But I think we would have plunged the club into crisis if we'd sacked Wenger four years ago.
He's doing all that but I think that were we out of the CL next year, he would stay. I don't see him as reneging on his contract and I think he will want to get the club back into the fray again. Whether he is the man who will get us back to the winners circle may be another matter. I think the financial constraints imposed by the fools who run or own our club is ridiculous. When they ( Gaza ) talks about success on the field of paly being paramount, I'm afraid I find his words rather hollow. If you want something you go all out for it. I don't advocate the Redknapp approach of bankrupting a club for success but I don;t think we need to stick our necks out to win. It's just that these dummies hold onto the money and there has to be a reason for this. Whatever it is, it certainly isn't helping us on the field.
Or we might get years in the wilderness. I remember football before sky and champs league and I can tell you that Arsenal were not even half the club they are now since Wenger transformed us.
I agree with this, however, surely now we could make a couple of big signings without being in too much financial trouble? If it meant finishing in the top four we would recoup 20 million immediately and also maybe hold on to RVP. Surely we have been prudent enough to now reap the rewards before we find ourselves in a position where we have to start from scratch and have trouble attracting top talent?
