Honest team assessment. We were crap all over the park. We were panicky in defense (this happens far too often). They played a cleverer gameplan than we did. They pushed up on our midfield and defense and gave us little option but to pass to someone who was almost immediately put under pressure. Arshavin didn't give a toss. Chamahk was crap. Oxo looked good. Oh and Vermaelen too. Oh and don't mention Djourou. What a tosser.
You know what's funny ... Man U lost to Crystal Palace last week. Remember that? And you don't see anyone saying "Jesus, look at how bad our second team is, we'll never win anything with this ****". What's wrong with you people?
You can't compare Man U to us. Barcelona lost to Getafe the other week too, should we compare ourselves to Barcelona also ? No, because Barcelona didn't have their worst start for 58 years ! Barcelona were prepared for the start of the new season and didn't panic buy a load of players. Did you see Barcelona's C side play yesterday ? They whopped their opponents.
... what the f*ck does that have to with anything here? I'm beginning to doubt you're even a real Arsenal fan.
I cant believe some still dont agree that our reserve team as some put it isnt only rubbish, but Woeful and in need of serious stitches.
Piques situation was an exemption. He was a very good defender, but couldnt break the excellent Rio and Vidic partnership at the time,so he had to offload him.
Haven't read through the thread, but last night was as a result of too many individual errors in my opinion. The result was that it tore the confidence out of the team and it led to sloppy goals. I don't think the team was set up badly, or the wrong players picked. But I do think that some of those who did play had very poor games and did not do their jobs at all well. Anyone who saw Wenger on the touchline would clearly see that the instructions he had given the team were not being delivered. We definitely played better in the first part of the second half and we deservedly got back in it for a while after Benayoun's strike, but we fell apart again due to some really sloppy play.
What bothers me, is that the team looked like players who've never met each other. Surely the "first 11" plays against this "second 11" almost every training session? I really really think that "second 11" should be playing the reserve games. They'd walk the reserve league, but they'd get game time with each other and keep match fit, ready to be called in whenever needed. Even if they played every 2nd reserve game to give the other youngsters a chance to impress and prevent fatigue that'd suit me fine, but they need GAME TIME.
I haven't had a chance to read anything Wenger has said since last night. What did he say about admitting he got the tactics wrong ?
