I actually agree with you on this one, I pessimistically think we're going to drop away. Not going to even try and predict a play-off winner.
Other than Cardiff, that started the season with less than impressive away form, and Watford who left it a few months to get going, all the others in the top 6-8 have been inconsistent as hell for the most part and this is what makes the Championship so fascinating as it remains wide open for at least 44 of the 46 games. Palace were flying to begin with, then you Foxes had a good run but neither could keep it going. Hull have coughed and spluttered for most of the season and I can't recall them stringing a good run of wins yet. Middlesbrough have flattered to deceive once again and are going to end up outside the top 6 just as they did last season. The Brighton or Blackburn race for 6th could be fun though, still think Brighton will nick it.
We had a pretty good run in December to be fair. Forest 1-2 Hull Watford 1-2 Hull Hull 2-0 Huddersfield Derby 1-2 Hull Hull 0-0 Leicester Hull 2-0 Leeds
yeah okay, 5 wins out of 6 but even Ipswich have been close to achieving that this season with 5 out of 7, just about over the same period oddly enough
Actually, looking back over results. Leicester didn;t string a huge run of results as I thought they had, 6 out of 7 in Sept/Oct. Perhaps the perception is that Leicester score more goals and their results tend to be more memorable and can skew what is really happening in the longer term
They are all tough games in this league fella, can't take any team for granted or it comes back to bite you on the arse. Sheff Wed or Barnsley for example, both way down in the table but capable of upsetting the odds
And how did you do in Jan? We have been good since singing the missing piece of the puzzle (Wood) but I think the major worry for most of us Leicester fans is our lack of squad depth. Wood getting injured for the Peterborough match highlights this concern. Same goes for Morgan, Schmeichel, Drinkwater, Knockaert...if we lose any of those for any sustained period, we could struggle. Keep them all fit/suspension free and I'll back us. Trouble is, absences will inevitably happen and, as we saw yesterday, our rivals will be right on our case to take advantage.
Couple of people have left Blackburn out the top 6 - they now have THE best squad in this league ... IMHO
Although that's true, they've probably had one of the best squads in the league all season and haven't utilised it. Having said that, they probably will nick 6th if Middlesbrough can't change their current form.
Blackburn have got Millwall away in the next round of the FA Cup, hopefully they win that and continue there cup run
1. Cardiff 2. Blackburn 3. Leicester 4.Watford 5. Hull 6. Middlesborough Blackburn look strong, think they'll win quite a few in the coming weeks.
I think its still very early to nail teams on or write them off. Come Tuesday night if we lose and Hull win then it will look very rosy for them and doomed for us as they will be 9 points ahead albeit we will still have the 2 games in hand But if they lose and we win it will look pretty promising for us being only 3 points behind with 2 games in hand Tuesday night we will be a big night in the race for 2nd
I'm not trying to make anything into an argument, I just agree with what the Norwich fan said about us and yourselves being inconsistent. Rosie highlighting the month of December as a consistent run but that was cancelled out in January when you didn't win a single league game. Watford however have only lost two games since the beginning of November. If things continue in this vein, Watford will finish above both of us.
