Two seasons where our midfield was good enough to give him those sort of chances. The amount of one on ones he missed with us was insane.
Thought we played 5-3-2 according to you, so why would Konchesky be concerned with our right-back? In addition, Nige knew of Elmo's threat than day and you doubled-up on him. I think it was Marshall who played in front of Konchesky and actually did more defensive work than Konchesky.
.. the imagery conjured by that particular phraseology has quite put me off my cup of tea and cookies ...
Your only wide right player is El Mohamady and he got forward just as much as Konch did. Knockaert played in front of Konch first half and they swapped for the second. Marshall was dire that day, too.
.. that's the scousers for you ... and whilst some poor old buggers were eating curled up sarnies and drinking watered down beer in the middle of the road, the crafty scallies were robbing their humble abodes ..
The fact that Elmo wasn't as forward thinking and creative as his usual self was not because of Konchesky (who was poor) but because Bruce saw your threat as being from wide areas and Elmo therefore could not commit to attacks as often as he usually would. The clean sheet that day shows he probably made the right decision.
But all of our play came from wide areas? I'd say that if he thought our threat was from out wide then why did he only have one player patrolling each flank?
If the pissing contest is now in full-flow (no pun intended) we just went above you on the BBC's news page as well as in the league.

We got relegated with the second best defence in the league, tells you what end of the pitch was the problem.
When we get promoted Matty Fryatt will be sold to a Championship club, possibly Leicester seeing as Pearson seems to have a thing for him, he isn't Premier League quality but he'll probably do a decent job for your lot next season
