We had 3 really good shots thats about it really, they've had plenty. Millar was a saveable shot. Forster-Caskey and Gilbey made goalie make a very good save but I do think they deserve the lead
The body language is awful. Totally demoralised. I don't like seeing managers sacked but Bowyer is taking us down the table. Truly awful.
At the start of the Sky coverage I think they said Charlton have made 58 changes this season - most in the league. Accrington Stanley have made 14 - least in the league.
Oh dear. Bowyer has said he doesn’t care if Maddison is injured. You can't go saying things like that.
I realise you are not insinuating, but you are the last person on this board who I'd put down to advocate a change of Manager.
I wonder if Lee Bowyer is the kind of manager who has simply been unable to adapt to the circumstances football finds itself in now. Playing games behind closed doors. Granted, Charlton were in relegation trouble when the season was stopped in March 2020. But after a brief good re-start (7 points from 9 in the first 3 games) Charlton faded again and were relegated. At the start of this season we did well for a while with Thomas Sandgaard funding a batch of new signings. But as hopes for fans returning to games began to fade, Charlton faded as well. Of course, losing Famewo and Inniss were also big factors. But perhaps Bowyer's style of management just does not work well in pandemic circumstances, and he just doesn't know how to adapt. Some managers are thriving in the bad circumstances. Some seem able to keep up good team spirit among their squads. But other managers are struggling too, not just ours. Other teams who would be expected to be doing a lot better this season are struggling against relegation - not just slipping out of the top 6. This isn't a 'defence' of Lee Bowyer as such. If he can't adapt to changing circumstances that is a serious weakness, and eventually Bowyer may have to leave the job. This is just a speculation.
When he had idiots like Duchatelet and Southall in charge, Bowyer was never under any pressure. They didn’t give a **** for different reasons and he got on with the job in hand. Ok with a bit of help last season from above we would have stayed up. However since now we have a decent owner who will back him, he’s putting himself in a situation that he has to get us up this season. If we don’t go up, then we go again next time around. Has Sandgaard told him we must go up? He needs to stop doing interviews/press conferences straight after games at the moment. Let Jacko do them until you can get your emotions straight. Since the defeat at Burton his interviews have been bizarre
