Whilst the officials got it right with the Gillelsphey challenge, a lot of times it would have been a red. The first was even with a lot of huff and puff then Ajose mk2 did well for his goal, then he came off again. If I was a Swansea fan I'd be disappointed to have not got the three points.
In the end I was quite happy that makeshift team hung on for a point. Didn't Idah score against us for someone else in L1?
I thought we were lucky to get away with a draw today. Swansea were profligate. Happy in the end with a 1-1. We have 3 first team players on the injured list. This will test our squad.
This is the beauty of the Championship, even the unheralded sides have quality players & provide you with a tough test. Look at the size of the Swansea away support today & the atmosphere generated, compared to the 400 or so visitors you get in L1.
I see that Alex Mitchell played for Plymouth today. Zach Mitchell is not getting any games. I don’t suppose there are any call backs.
It had been reported that Alex Mitchell was stepping away from football for a while, for personal reasons. Perhaps those issues have resolved themselves. I hope so. Sounds like a tough test at the Valley today. Glad that we held onto a point in the end.
Bell & Burke have track records where fitness is concerned, we will have to recall the Mitchell Brothers if this is going to be a long term thing.
I quite liked the look of Alex until he fuked up , can’t remember what game , he just disappeared after that ?
With the exception of Preston (A), today was the first time our midfield came off a palpable second best. Swansea have some very good technical midfielders, who just played around GD / CC /SC. It seems clear now that Nathan Jones doesn’t particularly fancy Knibbs or Costello.
If so, strange given the trouble we had in getting Knibbs in. We have done very well so far and hopefully we'll not run out of steam. I am still concerned with our 'strength' upfront and think this will show up as our downfall eventually.
41% possession at home. It's very demanding physically the way we play. Swansea seemed fresher than us in the later stages.
It's worth noting our possession has been around 40% every league game this season. Home or away, win, lose or draw.
