There is a barrage of people on ITTV demanding Bowyer be sacked, while also complaining that he wasn't backed in the window. I agree that he is beginning to have a bit of a hang dog look about him, but at the very least, it bears remembering that he catapulted us into the Championship last year. besides, if all the rumours are true that Southall is potless, what will the club use to buyout the contract Bowyer has, and who will they replace him with, given the lack of funds to pay. The last time we were in a position to go for a last ditch saviour type managerial appointment, we bought in Pardew. That worked out well.
Still a very small minority calling for Lee Bowyer to go. I’ll back him this season regardless of whether we stay up or not. Who could do a better job? He’s never had any backing. Woodgate’s pointed comments about his close friend after the game clearly closely mirrored Lee Bowyer’s own opinions. It’s obvious that they have discussed it.
Agreed, I'd then give him till November to see how things are. I reckon Southall will sack him if we go down.
100% from me too. With the players he's been given (and taken away) none of our previous managers since Curbs could have done what he's done.
Thanks to the trains not running, I had the pleasure of sitting on the 54 bus all the way to Elmers End after the game. I'm trying to find something to be optimistic about, we produced chances but rare poor finishing from Taylor and Bonne cost us. Pratley greedily taking chances that he should have left or passed didn't help either. We're not down yet.
Used to do that bus journey for our exile to Selhurst in the 80s. From memory - I don’t use buses these days- it goes through Beckenham & round the houses?
