Mainly because it's difficult to get away from work in time. I'm covering for a couple of absent colleagues, and everyone wants to get away early on a Friday. If I have to stay until 5pm or later I'll have zero chance of getting across London in time on a Friday evening. I guess I could make an excuse and dodge out early, but it wouldn't be right. I'm in a trusted position. But also to be honest I'm not hugely motivated to go. I have renewed my ST for the sake of convenience, and also because I'm hoping that some time next season the Club will have new owners. No doubt there will be home Saturdays when I am in the mood to go and watch, perhaps depending on who the opposition is. But while RD is the owner I find myself being quite able to take it or leave it. Better that my seat in the Valley on Friday evening is taken by a fan who really wants to be there, and gets real enjoyment out of what will be a great occasion. I'm content to watch it on Sky when I get home from work.
A lot of Charlton fans on social media are plotting up their Wembley outfits already. There could still be an almighty sting in the tail on Friday night.
4 2nd leg away teams out of 4 have gone through so far, this isn’t over, I’m bloody nervous after tonight
When Leeds went one up last night I turned the TV off assuming that goal was game over …. as I said yesterday... I hate the play offs!
Despite us all agreeing that the owner is a helmet, hopefully we can also all agree that it will be great to see the Valley full again tomorrow night. I love the place. It’s my favourite place in the world, bar none.
