I didn't boo myself but I can fully understand people doing it. How else are they able to let the players know how peed off they are? Its not like they see these players away from the ground to tell them so game day is the only chance. People say we've been far worse in the past, the dark days, but have we? I can't remember many games where a team of that calibre played so pathetically. Yes we've been at the bottom of the football league, yes we've been hammered by the likes of Oxford etc, but did we have a 10m striker in our ranks then? Did we have players of Huddlestones quality? No, and that is why the current situation is so frustating
I agree to some extent but you say too often do we see lesser teams playing us off the park. really? Up to 3 games ago we had the best home record probably in the country,and nobody has played us off the park - they've parked the bus to get a draw. As someone who has to drive a round trip of 500 miles to see a home game, I am generally very depressed by the speed with which we criticise even when team is actually doing well, the lack of passion , and the % who leave early for their 2 mile trip home. Of course, they're entitled to do what they want, and other teams supporters might be just as bad, but on the whole I don't think they are !

I think it maybe does. It's creating a ****ty, negative atmosphere, and it doesn't matter how much money they are earning - it's still going to affect the way they approach the game.

I'm not saying that booing is the sole reason for poor performances; I'm saying that if it has any effect, it's probably more likely to be a detrimental one than a helpful one.
Well maybe they just stop playing crap then? As I said before I have zero sympathy for them. If they play well and try hard the crowd will get behind them no matter what the score is but when they don't even try why should the fans cheer them on? I'm no premier league poodle, as well you know Polly, but the recent lacklustre, can't be arsed performances by a highly gifted (on paper at least) team are deserving of some sort of abuse. As I said before, how else can the fans let them know? They can't wait til after the game and give them a ring or a text can they, or are people suggesting that no matter what sort of effort level is put in the fans should just accept it and cheer them on like a flock of sheep? Supporting a team causes many emotions, happiness, love, anger, frustration etc and rightly so, to suggest fans aren't allowed to show anything other than positive support at a game is ridiculous.
