Easy to see this as a "must win "game, but I don't care much to be honest. We haven't been good enough to secure 4th place and even a win here won't guarantee that.
I thought The scousers rumbled Roma pretty easily and I'm afraid they will do the same to us. They look a miles better team, faster, more clever, more enthusiastic and with 2 killer finishers. We will do well to get a draw here and might get murdered.
If we play as we usually do, it's a recipe for defeat. Liverpool are simply better than us.
This is the game to use 2 strikers, to get rid of Cahill, Fabregas and Courtois and inject some speed and passion from our youth team. Hudson Odei has to play , Christensen has to play, we must freshen up the turgid line up from the last couple of games and give it a go.
    Anything less is suicide.

Liverpool will be tired as ****, so that may work in our favour.
I can actually see us battering them to be honest.
They can lose this and still finish 4th by beating Brighton next week.
Plus they can still qualify for the CL by winning the competition.
With that in mind, I think Klopp will rest a lot of players, they just dont need to beat us.
Field a weaker team, rest some of the big names, then grab the 3 points against Brighton next week for 4th.

In short, do I think we will win? Yes
Do I think we will get fourth? No.

they don't even need 3 points against brighton, just 1 which ain't going to happen. Our best bet is for the spuds to bottle it

I think you're all being a little negative. We were dead on our feet after 60 minutes on Wednesday. The best we can hope for is a draw on this occasion. We should have beaten West Brom and Stoke and not let it get to this stage. We've no bench.

Like I said, I think we have a good chance of beating you, because:

    a) You do not need to win this game to get top 4
    and
    b) You will be knackered from the midweek CL game

But I still dont see you losing to Brighton on the final day, so I think you will be fine.....us on the other hand :(

Sorry Bobby, i know i'm being a bit pedantic but if we were to win our three remaining games Liverpool would need to beat Brighton.

Don’t do it yourself. This season is over in the league and rightly so.

We’ve been v poor (but will still only finish a few points behind Spud pool)

I really don't want it depending on the last match of the season. If it goes tits up, it puts us under even more immense pressure to win the final <yikes>

After watchin the 2 semis RHC....(Your defending and all the chances Real gave up) I can see it being a 5-5 draw in the final !!!

ah just had a look at the table.

I hadn't realised that i heard someone say it.

You are correct, they would need to win.

I agree with you. I can’t see Liverpool putting themselves out to beat us. Quite rightly, every physical and mental effort by the Liverpool management, players and staff will be concentrated on beating Real Madrid.

Aint that the truth. Not only no manager, still no director of football and all the cronies still in place.Plus too many reports about RA "ordering" the purchase of certain new players. With his record, he should quit while he's behind !!!

A fighting win best describes this. Thought Conte was nuts going with Bakayoko and leaving Willian out, but though Bakayoko was less than great, he was not all bad and the formation held up pretty well throughout.
Alonso looked fresh and lively, Moses best he has been for months Giroud took the goal well but gave the ball away too much, as did Fabregas. Everyone played their part, Hazard looked dangerous but as it often does, all came to nothing.
A very good effort from the entire team, a bit late, but much better. 2 games left , don't lose either and we're in with a ( slight) chance for 4th. Over to Spurs again !!!

We weathered the Scouser storm for the first 20 minutes from their front threesome. Our defence held strong all game. A great game to watch and the ‘get ready to rumble’ American that announced the team was hilarious. As was our regular announcer that announced to the Scousers at half time that we do ‘have history’ with Chelsea having the highest average attendances in England during the 1930s.

I missed Team announcements and though I enjoyed the game, I had bugger all nails left especially, when the extra 4 mins was held up.Just saw a replay, and in fact don't think we had one bad player, each did his part , Bakayoko included pleased to say, and Fabregas didn't give the ball away half as much as I thought watching game live.

We’ve now got the best form in the Premiership over the last 5 games - 4 wins and 1 draw !!! We’re in the final furlongs and we could now overtake Liverpool and the Spuds to finish 3rd given the right results. I want to see Antonio Conte here next season, he’s a great Chelsea manager in my opinion.

Agree with this. We just need some great Chelsea players for him to work with.
