Don't worry GH won't be here next year IMO. He's been a great servant for us and without him we wouldn't be in the EPL right now, but I think it's time now for him to move on. With RVW coming in next season Holt will no longer be top dog and I think that will signal the end of him as a Canary <ok>

Oh nothing, I just appear to have fallen into a twilight zone episode where Norwich fans are slagging off Holt and supporting Michael Oliver. What the hell is going on?

Not exactly slagging him off Beef, just saying that I think we've seen the best of GH and IMO he will decide himself to take a new challenge next year. Oh, and for the record you know as well as I do that had Oliver seen Holty's challenge clearly he would have sent him off. That BTW is the only reference I've made about his refereeing on these boards <ok>

Oliver doesn't need half a reason to send holt off. He's proved that in the past. It was a late challenge followed by some serious play acting from that Swansea player. People are giving Holt way too much of a hard time, it's getting out of hand.

It's called criticism, not slagging off and there is nowt wrong with criticising some of his tackling, especially when he is doing it our own half. Tackling was never his strongest point and was clearly demonstrated yesterday. Now why he chose to tackle the way he did, so quickly after being put in to the game I am not sure but I am going to guess he is frustrated by either the lack of play at the other end of the pitch or that he did not start the game. Either way there is little excuse for what he did but I guess that now makes me less of a fan of Norwich City and Grant Holt in your eyes.

He has been magnificent in previous seasons and he has worked his cock off this season but as we are playing more in our own half these days, and Holt is tracking back to help out, then he is not the best player to be flying in for tackles so close to our penalty box. Might as well let Barrett back in to the defence if we want a dodgy defender <ok>

I suppose to be fair Holt has been given the '**** end of the stick' by CH this year (not as ****ty as David Fox mind). When he has started he has mostly been ploughing a lone furrow up front on his own. Coupled with the fact that our midfield has invariably been unable to create many chances for him, he was never going to hit the heights of last season IMO.

Typical Stepford Norwich reaction to Holt by some on here. The bloke is nothing more than a commodity. While he plays well he keeps his place, when he isn't he is on the bench. He's gone. He should have gone at Sunderland and he should have gone yesterday. If you thought you should have played for England with that attitude I have to remind you that we already have a knob with that attitude called Rooney and he's a better player.
Well done for all those goals the previous seasons but you got paid for it and you can't manage it anymore. Move on. Because in reality, the ony people who count are the owners and the supporters.

Having seen the challenge on MotD, I would say that Holt should have been shown a red. Whatever is troubling him and resulting in him getting 3 bookings in 4 games, then maybe it's time for him not to even be on the bench (can't believe I'm saying that), but in his current state f mind, he is aliability IMO.

Beef - whilst Oliver didn't have a good game, it wasn't bad, but his booking of Tettey near the end was certainly wrong - Tettey had won the ball and the Swanseaa player ran into him!!!!
