If you say so, to be honest I think whilst is isn't great for our club, it certainly is recoverable, as has been said many times if Holt leaves it will be on our terms and not his!

I heard that Holt wanted to be allowed to represent GB at the Olympics but was refused by the board for fear of injury. No idea if there is any truth in that whatsoever but that could be another angle which has irked him somewhat. Does anybody know when is the GB team announced?

There's nothng to fall apart at the Community Homes Stadium in Colchester - your only way is UP!!!!!

I reckon we'll get more than the £4000,000 we paid for GH as well. <cheers>

not heard that but i do know that holt is DEFINITELY not going to the olympics. he hasn't been included in their initial squad which will then be trimmed down to 18 (this initial squad has not been released to the public but he holt isn't in it - the players have been told)

Was this at the meeting they had the other week? if so fair enough, I didn't realise he was offered another deal.

Dangerous Marsupial, I am hearing that Drury is going to be offered coaching role though. Your right Howson could do captaincy to be fair, he done it at Leeds very young. Either way I think we will need another personality in there if Holt was to leave, someone who does bring everyone together. I think Holt does that.

Another thought, does everyone actually think Holt could emulate the same form he has shown this season under another manager?

No way! Ryan Bennett needs to develop more, in my opinion will be in and out the team this year. Captaincy is a lot of pressure on his shoulders. I know Howson is young but he has already experienced being a Leeds captain which is no mean feat.

I see Swansea have a condition set down that Liverpool cannot buy any Swansea player for the next 12 months. I wonder if we'll play the same game with Villa?

Sell him. Can't hang around for anyone. Thanks Holt and Lambert for your contribution, it is appreciated and will never be forgotten. Legends forever.....

......but you will both regret your moves sooner or later I'm afraid.

I suppose it depends on new manager and who he rates now, personally I think Ayala and Russell Martin are CURRENTLY better there, Bennett has great future ahead nonetheless.

    Grant Holt!

I've written on a previous thread what I feel about you and the way you seem to want to conduct yourself, I'm not going to repeat it again.
But don't you ****ing well dare go onto a social network site looking to quantify your actions, if you want to go, then go with our blessing, but it's the wrong time to come out with this sort of ****. Are you looking for sympathy? Do you really feel hard done by?? Do you????
It seems like it! Well I support Norwich City Football Club NOT you, don't you dare try to drag my club through the mud by making obscure comments on twitter and seemingly looking for our support. You won't get any from me, you've had my undying support for the last three years, and now you want to throw that back at me, DON'T! Just **** off if that's what you want to do, that, or shut up about it.
The rumours are that you want to secure the future for your family by getting more money, well 22,000 season ticket holders have the same asperations, so do the casual supporters who pay through the nose week after week. We all want more than we've got and we all have the option of trying to achieve that, but we don't all go onto forums whining about it.
You've had our support and respect, try giving some back!!

At 31 years old GH has probably left his best days behind him. This could be a good time to cash in on his reputation. Let's face it he doesn't give a t*ss about the fans so let's use this situation to our advantage - get a good transfer fee from Villa, Sunderland et al and use it to get in a younger, hungry striker.

    <applause>

And with Paul Lambert's deafening silence as per usual, he's also disrespected us fans if you ask me <ok>

spot on - disgraceful for captain to conduct himself in this manner... had sympathy for him previously because i could understand he wants to secure a future for his family - but to carry on in such a fashion when we are still reeling from yesterday is probably as low as it gets...

prior to this i'd have been confident that holt had a job at norwich for life...

I think that's a fair point. I don't want him to go, and he's still got a good couple of seasons in him, but if he's going to go, we won't ever get more for him than selling now.
