I think you are all being very unfair on Holt. He may not look any more like a footballer than Crouchie does, but his record of 60 goals in 120 matches for Norwich is excellent. There is clearly more to Holt than meets the eye........ now that is no mean feat!
Living in he locality as I do, and having Norwich City rammed down my throat every time I turn the radio on, I feel I should make some sort of comment here. Holt is effective, no doubt about that. It's already been mentioned that he's good at what he does, sadly that's not playing football!
Basically he just fouls his opponent all game long (proven by him leading in the fouls against) and then dives as soon as an opponent gives any back. Hes very good at cheating, thats it.
He's also one of the most fouled players. Nobody can deny he is a good player. 17 goals in his first season in the Premier League is no mean feat.
DJ Campbell got 13 in his first season. You won't find many of us shouting his name from the rooftops. Holt is one of those players supporters of other clubs love to hate. Learn to live with it, it's flattering in a perverse way.
Why is he one of the most fouled players? Oh yes, he throws himself to the ground a lot! And yes, I can deny that he's a good player!
If you did - instead of calling for more money wasting signings - he might still be banging them in for you.
Thank you for reinforcing all my prejudices regarding Norwich, seems I was right all along. Ignorant twat.
Must say, this thread is giving me a good laugh tonight. God to admire the Norwich fans, they seem to have waited until today to come on here and spout this rubbish. Would they be saying the same if he had left? Highly doubt that. Truth is, every fan but the Norwich lot can see Holt for what he really is - a cheat. That is how he wins fouls, not because he is 'fouled' the most. The point about DJ Campbell scoring 13 in his first PL season is also a very valid one - one season doesnt make him the best thing since sliced bread. So many have done the same before.
Scoring 60 goals in 120 games for Norwich is another valid one. DJ Campbell has played 192 games for football league and Premier League clubs in total and still only scored 57 goals. You simply can't compare them.
I think it's the Norwich fans fervent belief that the big lad should lead the England front line that cracks me up
I think its fair to say he's hungry, but he ain't fat no more. please log in to view this image Taken today.
