Now my eye-sight may be getting a little raggedy as the years advance, but when Zahora came on I had a flashback to the days of Leo! A good thing or not?
Got to be a good thing, imagine if your flashback had been either Guylain Ndumbu Nsungu or Luigi Glombard
We could have done worse. I watched Wout Weghorst in a streamed Eredivise game last Sunday playing for Heracles at home to Roda. They got stuffed 5-0 and Weghorst was like a crab - a bullet dodged I reckon.
Don't watch much Dutch football maclad - that game was just on and we were supposed to be signing Weghorst from Heracles before our transfer embargo cut in. I just thought I'd have a look at what we missed and I can tell you from that game, thank God for the embargo.
Olly does not predict us this week in his piece - probably because he can't work us out. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...olton-to-beat-nervous-leeds-wins-for-hull-qpr
Well he got the one last night wrong anyway....... "Steve Bruce's men have the best defensive away record in the division and Birmingham are struggling to score goals at the minute. The Tigers have won seven of their eight wins away without conceding - I can see that happening again."
Rowett has made a very average squad (much inferior to ours) into realistic top 6 contenders. We've got Brum last game of the season at the CCS - that could well be a crunch game for a playoff spot.
Think we'll have drawn to many silly games to be in contention for that. But that game would defiantly fill the CCS.
Not so sure about that Sheepy. I know I've changed my tune a bit recently but I sense a different attitude all round at the club. The last two playoff places are up for grabs and will be between Derby, Sheff Wed, Brum, Ipswich and us. We still have to play all 4 of them - three of those at the CCS. In all honesty I'd be happy with a point at the wurzels tomorrow. A couple of wins in our two home games that follow against a stuttering Leeds and Ipswich would definitely put us on course for that Brum showdown on the last day.
I agree with both of you....... I really wont be surprised if all the draws end up costing us, but Sparks is right, it's still in our hands. At least we've got a reason to stay interested for the next couple of months which is a huge improvement on last year. I did tell you all we'd be ok this year...
The draws to date along with Slade's inability within the 90 minutes on the pitch to convert them to wins have certainly cost us a current top 6 position. We should be concerning ourselves with the autos right now, not worrying about a playoff slot. There's still time and a dozen games left to put that right. A total of 36 points to play for and an average of 2 points a game will put us on 76 points - that's virtually guaranteed to take a top 6 slot on past history. I hate playing this catch up game, but I'd rather we turn it on even belatedly and go for something from the season rather than sit through mind numbing stuff with the players looking forward to May on the beach somewhere.
And I admire his delusion Have to admit this is the most positive I've felt about City in about three years. Regardless of whether we get a playoff spot or not, it is far more interesting/entertaining than not being in the picture at all.
Maddening to think of the points that got away by either poor reffing missed chances own goals and last gasp goals. They say it works itself out throughout the season but City have only had the rub of the green on a few occasions. Time for some City late winners and opposition own goals
