Eat some pike. Or perch.

They love to eat boney coarse fish.

Their red wine is decent too.

I have family in Poland, they are big on eating freshwater fish and some of the fish dishes in restaurants are big hearty affairs with lots of potatoes, dumplings, pickles etc.

Not sure on Polish wine, but the beer is ****ing awesome (a lot of it is Czech)

Swear flights never take off on time any more. 90 mins late on the way out and sat here getting on for two hours late on the way back. Twats.

Also no worse situation when you hate the general public than planes. Got a legroom seat at least.

I'm done with flying for a while, sick of it all.

Can't stand air travel, the whole parking, check in, hang around in airports, the flight, it's all just tedious.

Much rather get to Europe by boat and car/van for a summer or winter holiday, any day.

Needs must sometimes but I avoid where I can.

Talking of which, go away next Tuesday evening, pretty much imminent. Boat to Bilbao, couple of days in Rioja region, down to med coast near Tarragona, two week chill out there, then back again via Cantabria and Santander.

Loads of driving but no flights.

Flying world club business class to San Francisco on an airbus A380 in Sept. Get my own cabin seat with a bed, tv, air con and as much champagne and fillet steak I can shake a stick at. Also get to head straight to the BA club world lounge at Heathrow and SF, so none of this hanging around sitting on the floor outside of WH Smiths with the rif raff.

I actually love flying, all of it, so it helps. But doing it this way will make it a whole lot more enjoyable.

Great that I now have the choice of a rucksack or paying to bring a tiny suitcase when a woman with her own gravitational pull is a couple of rows back. Absolute state of it. Should be illegal.

Just booked France, 29th July to 27th August, first the lakes, then down to the Alps for 9 nights, walking, hire a few bikes for some downhill, kayaks etc..then down to the Camargue 9 nights, lovely beach but that will be an occasional thing in the evenings, **** that stuff in the day, few trips out, Arles, Pont du Gard, Carcassonne already on the agenda, then a night stop on way back up, then Fontainbleau for 6 nights, lad will be in his element, supposed best bouldering place in Europe, a day at the Palace of Versailles for the young un, then back up north for a couple of nights before ferry home. Less than £1700 for 4 of us inc ferries, school holidays can't moan at that, works out at about £56 per night.

Weren't you there last year as well?

It's not too far down the coast from where we are, closest I'll get is a day in Tarragona though I imagine.

Aye same place, same hotel. We loved it so going back. Will probably hit Tarragona on the Sundays as the Mrs likes the market

On the way!

Currently at Leigh Delamere, next stop Pompey, then next stop after that Bilbao and civilisation for 2.5 weeks.

And some sun.
