Both the Allied / Ind Coope and the Bass Worthington breweries ended up in the hands of American owners and with the decline in traditional beers lots of the "brands" were culled leaving loads and loads of spare brewing capacity .
though on checking it is apparently Carlsberg Tetley who bought the Allied brands and brewery and not Anheuser-Busch as i thought but Coors deffo bought Bass .

Coz it was the only logical conclusion ... because Guiness in Ireland (or at the Irish enclave known as the Cheltenham Festival) does taste very different (better) ... this is because it comes via 2 pipes - one chilled and one at room temperature which then mixes it as it hits the glass - the perfect pint of Guinness... you're welcome
Except that's not factually correct in a lot of Irish pubs.

Depends when you say South, I don't really know Naples / Almalfi, which seems to be a popular region - although that popularity makes me hesitant, but I've know people that have gone and they've enjoyed it.
Now if you mean proper South, South ie Apuglia then I take an interest because it's quite a historical area.
Trulli houses... I'll post a more realistic photo so you can see it's really touristy again...

My must go to place would be the caves, which were occupied up until the 1950's when the facist government (I think it was facist then) kicked them out, although tour guides will give the government led narratives...Sassi di Matera, calling it a @PINKIE moment ...

Technically one of the poorest regions in Italy, fly into Bari I believe, but you would need a transfer, I'm not sure what the transport links are like.

Some lovely little bays / alcoves down that way, but again going South transport is not as freely available as the North / Central, but there will be local buses, which is fun, when they eventually arrive lol....
Taxi's due to some of isolated areas could become very expensive for any long legged journeys, unless you hire a car.
So it probably depends on what you mean by South, and how adventurous you feel, if not and you want everything catered for and don't want to see funny shaped buildings and old rocks, then it's probably going to be Almalfi. Unless someone can think of areas I've missed.
