Things have changed a bit since the last time I was here,, big improvement in the roads for one.
Hospitality is still great though and very friendly folk on the whole.

I was last there in 2010 and loads of EU money was going into roads and infrastructure projects. Canny are the Irish. Very good at maintaining their unique culture and identity, but also very progressive and outward looking

Yeah I mean it was a sweeping statement, and of course there are issues with immigration across Europe.

But more as a general observation about the Irish government approach over the years has been very outward looking towards Europe and indeed the US

Impressed with Ibiza though, very nice. Don't think I fancy the clubbing part of it though..

My lads mate was over doing the clubbing thing, 17euro for a bottle of bud. Said he could only afford to go out 3 nights of the 7 he was there.

Yeah,I would imagine so mate.
They just rip the piss out these kids and they're mostly having a good time so just go for it.
Quite a few of the youngsters stayed where we were and enjoyed the beaches and cheaper food and drinks then went to the club by taxi. ****ers were noisy coming in but that didn't bother me much.

The prices were shocking about 15 years ago. Think I was paying 60-80 euros just to get into the clubs.

Most people were buying cans from the off licence and sitting on the beach drinking before going to the clubs so they only had to buy a couple drinks in the clubs.

I went into San Antonio when I stayed in the North and the taxi was expensive. Over a 100 euro, can’t remember how much exactly.

It ain’t cheap. I could go to Jamaica for a fortnight and it would be way cheaper than going to Ibiza for a week.

I paid 50 euros from airport to Portinax. It's only once your in the clubbing area that it seems to go nuts.

First stop in France, place called Marans.

It's on the Niort canal system, so inland marina type place and very French.

It's ****ing boiling hot. Going to crack first beer soon but they aren't quite cold enough yet.
