Two dead in Evia now, after plane crashed attempting to fight the fire.

It's not long been reported, so you had no way of knowing. I just felt it was obvious all along that some of these fires are either being started by human negligence or by arsonists. These places have always been tinder boxes, and I wasn't convinced all these were self combusting as part of some climate change, it creates the right circumstances/conditions, but you can be pretty sure some of these are down to dickheads.

I will not deny Bobby, that thought had crossed my mind. <laugh>

But aside from joking, it wouldn't surprise me whoever is doing some of this could well be liking the media attention, it all creates the perfect storm for some human nut jobs.

So, update.

Arrived about mid day, via a Spanish supermarket for beer and barbecue stuff etc. Extraordinary cheap by comparison to the usual France prices.

Very nice here, boiling hot.

Not as refined as France, but makes a refreshing change, Spain and the Spanish not nearly as up themselves.

Kids have just moaned; **** WiFi, **** pool, **** beach, too hot, too windy.

I went to the beach bar with Mrs Chief and daughter and had pint and a half cold local lager, and an Orangina (turned out to be Schweppes but still deemed to be ok it seems).

€8.20.

The pint would have been that+ in France alone.

I’ll dig out the name of the place I was albeit a few years ago if I can. Ex probably booked it.

To be honest I’d trust reviews more as new places will have been thrown up since then.

Find yourself a good weekend brunch. If with the missus, drink where it’s ladies’ night and she’ll drink free and it’ll be full of pissed Irish minge.
 
My Mrs best mate and her two kids arrived a couple of days ago.

All OK in principle, except her two kids are morose ****wits who moan constantly and are now just bumming everyone out.

Her daughter is supposed to be my daughter's friend but she's just bringing her down. Would be delighted if they all just ****ed off home again tbh.

Anyway, got 18 holes booked with my son tomorrow so I'm away from this all for an afternoon at least.

How spoiled some kids are surprises me sometimes (my own included, can't lie).

It shouldn't though.
