Hull options are curry sauce and chip spice.
Not options for this Hullensian.
Abridged version, bollocks. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

On a side note, I spent yesterday afternoon with Neil Chinery's son in Admiral of the Humber, the place was heaving, they must be coining it in. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

Is that the vet from the League of Gentlemen?

The one who exploded tortoises and electrocuted kestrels?

Maybe not.

Admiral Of The Humber? You know how to live the high life. No cost of living crisis then? People can’t affford to go to football but can spend all day in the pub.
Funny old world
Only pub packed during the day round my way is Wetherspoons. Quite a lot don’t even bother opening until later or do dinners and then shut.

If you think I’d have said **** it and eaten meat you really don’t know how stubborn I am!

Vegan options have been fine. As usual it just needed a bit of pre planning and negotiation with chefs. No problem really though. (Vegan baklava took some tracking down, but found a great place in Besiktas area)

Any chance of seeing a game?Though the atmosphere may be hard to handle after the MKM. Don’t they realise that they should be sat down waiting for the team to give them something to cheer about, the game hasn’t even started.<laugh> Someone I know worked in Istanbul. Besiktas was his first choice for games.

Admiral is a Wetherspoons, most of them in there were eating too, I was surprised how busy it was for a wet, bloody wet, Tuesday. Thought I might have seen Rovertiger in the area, but then I remembered that it was Halloween and he would be erring on the safe side by staying indoors. :emoticon-0143-smirk

I know it is a Wetherspoons. Same in my local one, when I go by it is full in a morning most having breakfasts and coffee which reputedly are pretty good vale and a lot eating in the afternoon. Must be 7 or 8 years since I was in there.

A group of people in a resonable restaurant, the waiter comes round with a big pan of soup ladleing it into the bowls. After her bowl was filled a lady said politely that she was vegetarian, a puzzled look on the waiters face so she explained that she didn't eat meat. No problem he says as he scooped up the lumps out of her bowl with the ladel and dropped them back into the pan.
Got to love the wild east.

No. A few of us went in for a while because the landlord in our local was a pillock. It wasn’t too bad. Went downhill when one pub shut down and the deadbeats from there started going in. From all accounts it has improved since it reopened last year following a refit and an extension.

Cheeky ****. <laugh>

Back from Istanbul.
Very good time.
Cheap food and drink (5 pints of Efes malt for less than 7 quid in a fairly touristy area on Asian side, up to £3.40 max in restaurants on European side)
Friendly people
Bit sprawling and one of those places that ****ty places are only a small accidental wander away from nice spots.
Never felt unsafe but was surprised to come round a corner on the way to a quite nice restaurant to find we were in prostitutes & tramps alley.
Transport easy, we walked round most places but it is huge.
Preferred the Asian side (not just because of the beer prices!)
It was the 100 year celebration of them becoming a republic when we arrived, which was good.
All in all has a cracking time, really nice hotel, decent cheap food and drink, but not somewhere I’d rush back to tbh
