I don’t think we could deal with the stress of not knowing if they’d pick us up and get us there in time!
I got one to and from Manc airport
Great getting there
On the way back I had to tell the driver to slow down as he was speeding even more than I speed.
He barely slowed down
His engine promptly died a few miles later
Ended up going home in an AA lorry!
Cheeky ****er tried to charge me full price!
Didn’t want to rip him off, he’d had a **** enough day, but I thought paying for the length of journey he provided fuel for and drove for was plenty…and reminded him if he’d slowed down we might not be sat in an AA lorry!

Nice to know Alcoholics Anonymous give such a personalised service for you ...

Anyway anyone been to Calas de Mallorca ? Any recommendations? don’t think there’s a lot there tbh
Just gonna be chilling
I've stayed there. It's basically a small square with some shops, bars abd restaurants. The Americas is the big white hotel on the cliffs and the Samoa is in the middle. I stayed at the hotel across the cliffs. If you feel energetic, you can swim to it. No idea what it is called now. There are paths out that you can walk on. The resort isn't itself down quite a long road from the main road. There isn't much to do but eat, drink, relax. You will be fine.

We did once try one of those deals where you turn up at the airport, hand over your car and they park it off site for you, then bring it back when you land back in Manchester.
First part went fine but when we landed, they brought us the wrong car and had to wait an hour before we got ours.
Never done it since, wondered how often that happens.

Meet & greet. Do it most times nowadays. Often no more expensive, sometimes even cheaper than LS parking. Works well in my experience.

Had to wait fifteen minutes while they sorted it out

I have just arrived in Skiathos ( Sunday 3pm) it is hard to tell there has been a storm so far. We are on the front in Skiathos Town. The lift is not working in our hotel but everything else is.
I've been into Skiathos town and eaten. All of the bars and restaurants are open. It us remarkable what they have done. Our waitress said that the flood water was above her knees and that they spent two days cleaning. I don’t know about the rest of the island but it seems like anyone coming here this week will not have anything to worry about.

On that main street in skiathos town with all the bars and restaurants on it, has the old timer motorcycle escaped the flood. It's quite famous and sits slap bang in the middle of the outdoor seating area.

I didn't see it but I didn't look for it either! It's called Papadiamanti Street. I've been to Skiathos eleven times and I can't remember it.

That's the kind of memory you need to keep you going back to watch City.

Thanks for all your comments Tigger. We’re looking forward to arriving on Wednesday and having been several times before will be pleased to support the local businesses in their recovery.

No problem. We are returning today. There are only four flights in total. Your view on supporting the businesses was exactly how we felt.

Have a great time. We love it here. You will be able to continue the hunt for the elusive ancient motorbike.
