Official site reporting Hogg has left for Huddrsfield Town - moving for family reasons!!

Think we may well miss him, unbelievable engine, and although not the best finisher :cheesy: always got himself in good positions...

I for one think we need this type of player in our team and may need to look at replacinging him ASAP.

it also affects our 'home grown' squad element.

I am genuinely upset by this. I really liked the guy and rated him as a player. But it was clear that being away from Libby (his daughter) was tough on him. He used to cope by hanging out with his good friend Craig Forsyth, and I wondered how him leaving might affect him. I will have to make Huddersfield a regular away trip.

This is bad news, a very useful player gone. I think he still would have got games even with the movements in the summer. Where was he from originally? I guess he must have family still in Yorkshire? I wish him well and would be happy to see him back in the future.

p.s. at least Hogg is one former player we don't have to worry about scoring against us! I liked the guy a lot but he never brought his shooting boots.

I would not put it past him to shin one in against us!! more I think of this, the more I think we will miss him patrolling the centre of the park, breaking up play doing the dirty work nobody ever realy sees. Will we have a player to do this work on a cold January afternoon?

He came to us from Villa. His family are based in the Birmingham area and he used to stay at Napsbury during the season.

Yes - AV seems correct - maybe he started at Middlesborough - or it could be my Swiss cheese brain! :)

As everyone says above I am also sorry to see him go. He has always put a lot of effort into his game and did stamp his presence on mid-field.

If as Dan says he was missing his family, it does show that players are human and not just items that can be sent anywhere to suit the owners.

it probably didn't help his state of mind having 2/3 midfielders come in, plus a couple of academy graduates hungrey for games.

Born in Boro so I suppose the Huddersfield thing was the best option in that direction. A big decision career-wise I would say looking at the difference between what I think we can achieve this season and what Huddersfield can.

Shame but if somebody is that keen to leave then so be it considering the other options we have.

Disappointing to lose a decent player though.
