The problem in England is the odious EPPP, which enables the 'Big Six' clubs to sign up all the most talented youth players from other academies - when they are 15 or 16 years old - for very little money and before they sign their first professional contract. Watford have lost almost all their best young players in recent years and it is unlikely this exodus would have been prevented even if Watford's youth academy had moved to Category 1.
The most obvious example of this was Jadon Sancho, an England International who cost Man United £80m who was poached by Man City
Now official on the Watford Website with Ray Lewington as assistant Once more into the breach dear friends. once more

Not just Manchester City taking our young players. Arsenal, Celtic, Chelsea and Leeds Utd. have also signed talented young players from Watford's youth academy during the last couple of years.
This tweet by Richard Jolly is inaccurate and very misleading. Nigel Pearson was six managers ago. His team did keep some clean sheets (e.g. Bournemouth 3-0 away and Liverpool 3-0 home). Hayden Mullins was only interim manager for two games. Ivic's team also had some clean sheets but he never managed in the Premier League (the tweet specifically refers to clean sheets in the Premier League). Munoz's and Ranieri's teams had no clean sheets in the Premier League while Hodgson's team have yet to play a game.
And, if you scroll through Jolly's tweets, you'll find that he's just another poor 'journalist' to avoid - he certainly seems to dislike Watford.
He seems hopeful that he can do a decent job at the club. www.watfordfc.com/news/hodgson-its-a-challenge-i-believe-im-ready-to-take-on
Seems to be a recorded interview rather than “live” Sounds more hopeful that the players will listen rather than actually expecting them to!
Well unfortunately he hasn't been although some of the away games have been ok. But to get no points from the home games he's been in charge for has been very disappointing.
Yes very...either he has lost his touch..... or.................. things are very bad in the dressing room.... or... we really have a below average set of players
