Alex Bruce hasn't let us down in Hobb's absence. Not including McShane we've now got four very capable central defenders and they should all get an equal chance based only on form.
I swear you all watch a different game to me. Bruce and Macca are enough for an average Championship side, we want promotion, not an average team. Hence why we need Hobbs back to his best as soon as possible. I accept it will take time, but he is worth the wait.
I havent been to a game clearly. I only get to watch the full replays on tigers player so I know that my opinion is skewed since I do not have the full picture of what is occurring on the field. Still, Bruce and the irish messi are good enough for a promotion team because we would be in the top 2 if our goal to shot ratio was decent. Our problem is not our defense it is our ability to take the chances we have and covert them to goals. If we were doing this we would be in the top 2 and the argument would seem silly. Someone said a few days ago that Aluko was in the top 3 in shots for the league but only has 4 goals. That highlights the problem. The top 3 goal scorers in the league have 15, 8 and 8. If Aluko was top 3 in goals like he is in shots he would have 4 more goals. We would be in the top 2 if we had those 4 goals in the bag. This could be applied to a handful of other players as well. Bruce and Irish Messi have done an immense job because they have helped keep the team in a position to win games. It is not their fault we are not higher up the table.
Great news on Hobbs, will be a boost to have him back playing again. It's important not to expect too much from him too soon though.
