I like all the psychological head fook stuff, not horror us such, more mind games. One of my favourite movie scenes, does everything quite simply without the need for blood and abuse...
I don’t know if I have a favourite horror, but I do have a top ten. In no particular order:- The Exorcist The Omen The Beyond (Lucio Fulci) Angel Heart Day Of the Dead (Romero) The Evil Dead (Rami) Event Horizon Alien The Thing (Carpenter) Night of the Demon I could probably reel off another 20 quite easily.
They're just incomparable films really. I prefer Alien as it had a Hitchcock feel to it but I love Aliens too. The feel of them and atmosphere the directors are trying to achieve are chalk and cheese. Reckon Ridley Scott could have made Aliens and Cameron couldn't have made Alien though.
I agree with you. Alien is a horror movie with a sci-fi slant. Aliens is a sci-fi movie with a horror slant. I love both movies, but Alien edges it for me because the H R Giger imagery is so integral to the overall feel. It's like a futuristic version of Dante's Inferno.
In my defence: 1) I actually have a child I can pretend I am doing it for 2) I only buy the fake Chinese Bego or Leko 3) I spend at least 50% of my time apart from the Mrs and porn is banned in the internet here
She should divorce you, or bury you under the patio.. Get a grip man, get a ****ing grip ffs... Not only are you Luvs dad, but Metths is your bastard child... Honestly ffs, take a long hard look at yourself ffs.
Loved The Omen and the original Halloween was pretty good too. Not really a horror film buff though. Used to be very keen on drinking and women, but since I’ve had to give them up, I don’t have a hobby as such. Apart from the Gym, I suppose.
Bet you don't have a room full of them though like me and Derek. Also suspect that taking them to pieces and reassembling them might be looked upon in a much harsher light than for us Lego collectors.
Horror movies were great when you were 16 and you wanted to turn the lights off and cop a feel of your bird’s tits. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed one since then.
Good film that. Recently watched The Apostle thought it was brilliant, like a modern The Wicker Man, superb performance from Martin Sheen.
The Wicker Man - the Edward Woodward version, not the later ****ty Nick Cage version - is superb. It's one of the few non-musical movies that I've bought the soundtrack for.
