I never really got into music until I was about 14 (about eight years ago), which, from talking to people, seems to be incredibly late. All I really heard up to then was the odd Now... album of my mum's, and two or three songs that my dad seemed to play permanently in the car. I can't remember the first album I bought, but the last ones I purchased were from HMV. They were Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks (Brian Eno), Music For Airports (Brian Eno) and a Tom Petty 'Best Of...'. So there :)

    Erik.

I congratulate your eclectic tastes for one so young!

Hope you didn't copy Eno's hair though. It looks like he bought a wig 2 sizes too small!

I know this is a difficult concept for you to understand but i actually attend football matches so I don't have to pretend that I am a fan.

Enjoy your slippers and armchair this weekend.

Lol. This could get a little dodgy. Will say she's improved with age. Music tastes have somewhat changed since.

Best story I heard about Kylie was when she was with Michael Hutchence. The INXS frontman was being interviewed and was asked if he had any hobbies.
    "Yeah,corrupting Kylie!" Was his reply

Hampy, I think you should make more of an effort to come to Ipswich from Yorkshire every other week, just to appease the newly renamed Budgie poster Trickledown (my pyjama leg).

It's not good enough. He makes an effort to get to Norwich from Royston Vasey, so you should make an effort too.

I think you're right hawkings. Two away games in two months is just not cricket <laugh>

Looking at the fixtures it's going to maybe be Blackburn but more likely Huddersfield in over a month. What a plastic fan I am!

Incidentally, there's a couple of feet of snow on the road here. I'll be doing well to get into Leeds tomorrow let alone all the way to Suffolk...

There was supposed to be a blizzard here at 3pm. Then it was supposed to be 4pm. Then 6. Then 7. Now they're saying Sunday. Or maybe tonight.

I could be a weather forecaster. Seems like a doddle!

In the winter it will be cold and might snow. There. Move over Julie Reigner-Huckerby.

Who doesn't love ska and 2 Tone?!

The Special AKA, The Beat, a bit of mod revival with The Merton Parkas.

    Lovely stuff.

A couple of years ago I saw Madness and the Specials at Glastonbury and the Speciasl really were 'something special'

I've been to Glasto many a time and the Specials are up there with one of my top memories, incidentally that year I also saw Toots and the Maytals at another festival and they were absolute class. Cannot beat some great music in a field during the British Summer

Saw Bad Manners in Amsterdam a few years ago. A lot of great concerts are played in 'Dam. Saw The Sugarhill Gang and Public Enemy on their 20th anniversary tour (not together) Summer Jam in Cologne is probably the best reggae festival in europe where I've seen the likes of Jimmy Cliff and many of the Marley boys play.
