The first vinyl single I ever bought was "I can't give you anything..." By the Stylistics in 1974 Thank god my tastes have moved on since then!
Tape - Hunting High and Low by Aha. WH Smith in Newmarket Record - The Best of Shakin' Stevens! The Welsh Elvis. No idea where that came from. Grown up a bit since then
In the 1980s I bought every single record that Luther Vandross ever made and I tell you what it was the best pulling music ever! The number of birds I ahem while playing the music from the king of soul was just "So Amazing". I still got all the vynl and I'm loathed to part with it as every record tells it's own conquest!
First single I ever bought was The Police De Do Do Do De Da Da Da from Humphreys newsagents in Saxmundham. First tape I'm not sure but probably Madonna or Michael Jackson.
Great Shagging music guarenteed to get you laid!
That's a good one Yorkie! Yes I am not afraid to admit that Luther is my No1 favourite vocalist and I still mourn his untimely passing! His vocals were beautiful and I had the pleasure of watching him both in the US and over here many, many times. I have not come across another male vocalist that gets anywhere near Luther
Heheh First single - "Love Makes The World Go Round" by the Jets (The Rockabilly band, not the naff Yank lot) from Parrot in Sudbury, spring 1982. First Album? Well, technically, that's "Love Songs" by Cliff Richard for me mum. Mine was , perhaps not surprisingly, "100% Cotton" by The Jets, roughly the same time. And first tape was "Giant" by The Woodentops and the Shop Assistants' first album at the same time from Andy's in Bury. Most bizarre though was "Motion of Love" by Gene Loves Jezebel from Woolworths in Bury! Mind you, I worked as Andy's in Colchester, '88-89, then moved to the Hull branch as Assistant manager, then went to Our Price. So I have quite a lot of music at home Mazzy Star white label, anybody?

My first 45 was , The Power Of Love . By Hughie Lewis and the News. Brought from Woolworths in Felixstowe Shortly after I brought , I'm Trapped, on 12" by Colonel Abraham. First album was Brothers in Arms... Dire Straits
I'm concerned about you Trickledown. You've mentioned Hampy's attendance a couple of times now. Are you unaware that he's a globetrotter (check the name) with a new business to run (check the posts). I'll be attending the match tomorrow. Provided it's on, obviously. Unless you get undercity heating to effectively clear the pathways of Norwich, it kind of renders your undersoil heating redundant.
Pleased be advised that I own and run my own successful IT company so I dont really need career advice thanks. My motto is to work hard and play hard and that you need well balanced leisure activities to enhance your professional life. If someone is too busy to attend their beloved club's matches then I would suggest that they are busy fools.
Well, I must say I have never bought a record or tape but my first CD was The Strokes 'Is This It.' Where from? A sign of the times; Amazon!
I'm with you hawky. Otis all day long. Closely followed by al green. On subject if first music. 7 inch was kylie. I should be so lucky. And album was five star. I believe it was called silk and steel.
He's been obsessed with it for several years now. In that time I don't think I've ever seen him write a match report...
