MITO, I wasn't arguing with your conclusions. I wasn't really arguing with the use of history to prove points merely cautioning that history is multi-faceted. Like you, I believe that our owners will make money available IF and only IF a well considered rationale is put to them which makes sense in both commercial and tactical (playing) terms. After that then 'good housekeeping' demands that players are bought and sold within the financial budgets available - but with the emphasis upon increasing quality within the squad.
