The transfer fee is announced by the media as soon as the deal is done. You can only check the accounts when they are published which maybe nearly a year after the transfer in concluded

Im sure some of the transfer figures have been a couple million off but it wouldnt change the fact we're well behind all our rivals.

If its all because of the stadium debt then fine but then why do they keep lying to us?

I agree with all this. However, whether it's poor scouting, or bad management, the truth is, it's a problem with Wenger & the Club that has gotten worse in recent seasons. 15 points is Arsenals WORST tally at this stage in any season since Wenger took over. That means getting Top4 is HARDER this season than EVER before.

As far as Transfer Fees, I agree that they're not usually known down to the pound, but the media generally has a fairly good idea (to within a few million) of how much players have cost or how much they're on (to within a few k).

I don't discount that Spurs seem to be quite well run financially. But my point was on transfer spends, where Spurs are right up there with a massive spend on transfers. Whilst they have done well to recoup some of this money. It doesn't hide the fact that they have spent big and achieved little.

Liverpool are probably a more stark example, they have spent a bucket load on transfers and gradually got worse. Then you have City and Chelsea who basically bought their success, let's not forget that these clubs were the very definition of average before the oil bucks came in.

Given that we have spent that last 8 years as relative paupers, I think Arsenal have overachieved by staying in the top four - and that is down to the skills of Wenger.
