I spent 3 ¹/² years with the Paras, and was there for the 50th anniversary of WW2 and the formation of the Regiment in 1990 - we re-enacted some of their escapades with their equipment, that was scary compared to what we'd been used too!

Interesting history as there has been a pub on that site since at least 1733. With regards to the hangings 'proceedings of the Old Bailey' were carried out at the pub up until at least the 1850s so the small green opposite the pub must have been the site of the gallows...
