    London was founded by the Romans as 'Londinium' a few years after the invasion of 43AD. It was abandoned around 60AD after Boudica's revolt, but grew quickly to 60,000 inhabitants in the 2nd century. Here's a map of London town around the year 400 #LondonHistoryDay

    22A046C1-010F-4D39-8CD8-285086782D5D.jpeg For a while(1940-1963) finnish Väinö Myllyrinne (1909-1963) was the tallest man of the world, he was too in finnish troops during WW2. He was 8 ft 3 inch tall.

    My father was on this operation ............
    Vertical photographic-reconnaissance aerial taken over the railway yards at Saintes, France, following an attack by aircraft of Bomber Command on the night of 23/24 June 1944. Almost every building in the yard is either destroyed or severely hit, and every line cut or torn up.
