They're after Cavani aren't they?
Bale would be a big loss for Spurs, but with 80+m they could strengthen hugely & more than compensate for his loss.

Higuain will be a great addition if he happens. What shirt will he take!?

Honestly if they offered 80mn for Bale, Tottenham should bite their hand off. They can respend that on 2 truly WC players or 4 Great players. Not to mention they wont have to give him the new £130k contract (fact check?) thereby preserving their wage structure. Not to mention removing their reliance on one player because if he gets injured it can severely affect your team. Much like if RVP had got injured in his last season with us.

unlike Arsenal we don't sell our best players, the only reason we relied on Bale last season was because our strikers were ****e,hopefully this will be sorted out in the close season, and we don't have to sell bale to do it,the fund's are already in place

Modric, Berbatov for starters you may not sell them cheap but you do sell them. Hell Man Utd sold Ronaldo after they won the UCL all clubs do - live with it. Whatever the reason you still relied on him and there is no guarantee that any new striker will magically start scoring all the goals you need. If you hold on to Bale the implications are greater than just the potential 80mn lost you are offering him a new contract of 130k odd which will smash your current wage structure meaning you have to pay more to existing players when they renew as well as more wages will be demanded by new recruits which cuts into your potential transfer kitty. From the talk coming out of Spurs it seems you have 30-40 mn to spend this will push you to 100mn+ that is 5 Top class players and potentially 3 WC players. I wold take that in a heartbeat.

You're quite right.

In fact I'm a particularly massive fan of the current Spurs players Modric, Van Der Vaart, Berbatov and Carrick.

In fact, it's the reason Arsenal sold all their best players and Spurs kept their best players that Spurs finished above Arsenal this season :1980_boogie_down:

Who exactly will you be buying that's better than Defoe and Adebayor??

you don't take an interest in the new's then?

Not sure what you mean by "new's"? But I assume you mean new players coming into tottenham if you sell Bale?

If so, I dont think you can replace him with so called "world class" players because of two reasons:

1) Your wage structure
2) You are not in CL

So to answer your question - no I am not that interested in the replacements since I think it will weaken you no matter what.

The news is that Bale is not leaving. Levy has assured AVB that under no circumstances will Bale leave this year <ok>

For your sake, I hope your board is better than ours when it comes to statements like that :)

I think we heard similar words for:

Fabregas
Nasri
RVP

And I guess Utd heard simliar words about Sir Alex not leaving from Sir alex. But left in the end.

I agree. Not absolutely convinced until I hear Bale say he is happy to stay. I doubt the wisdom of keeping a player that doesn't want to stay. The noises are that he will stay if we improve our squad.

I don't think bale will leave spurs this season, but I don't think he will sign a new contract either, the whole levy v modric thing will not have gone unnoticed by his advisors. Especially with modric claiming he had a verbal agreement with levy that he could leave, now he may have been talking ****e, but bale advisors will only accept some written clause in the contract which would likely be considerably less than the fees being banded about at present, this would also mean clubs like man u could buy bale and there would be nothing levy could do about it, similar to the gotze to byern deal.

Therefore in a years time bale will only have 2 years left on his contract and it will be more difficult to get the massive fees being talked about. I still can't see bale going to real, seems to much of a home boy to me, if I was having a guess I still think man u would be his preferred destination, by not signing a new contract, or having a buyout clauses with no exceptions, he is more likely to get that move. Levy would never let bale walk away for nothing, he is to much of a hardnosed business man for that. And before spurs fans claim levy would never sell to man u, you know as well as everyone else, if its a choice between getting 30 - 40 million or losing a player for nothing, he will chose the money every time.

Spot on.

I think Sp*rs will be a better team without Bale. If they sell him, they will have the resources to become a much better side than they are currently. Bale is WC now, but he is only one player. Apart from him they are pretty ordinary. That's why I hope he stays.

You might think so, but who can they replace him with? They'll never be able to replace Bale with players of equal calibre. Spurs and Liverpool are extremely lucky to have Bale and Suarez. These are world class players in **** teams. If they sell them, they can only replace them with players who are as **** as the teams they'll be playing for.

Damn, now I'm talking about this monkey business.

Right, looks like PSG have finally found a new manager and that man is Laurent Blanc, which means that Ancelotti can finally leave them and join Madrid, where he will hopefully sanction the Higuain deal.

is it true that Arsenal have bid £25m for him? That's a **** load of money...not compared to the top 3 and Liverpool buys but it's still a **** load.

It's £22 Mil according to most reports, and I think he would be worth it, we need a top forward and for me, Higuain fits the bill.
