For every one of those 23 years the Hillsborough families have suffered, the real culprits should suffer 10 fold, and that includes that evil bitch Thatcher.

This in no way effects what happened but may god look after the families who have fought so hard and sol long for this! I am so angry that it has taken so bloody long and even now, do not feel any of those found associated with the cover will have any real remorse for what they have done!

PM quote in full: ""The new evidence that we're presented with today makes clear in my view that these families have suffered a double injustice: the injustice of the appalling events, the failure of the state to protect their loved ones, and the indefensible wait to get the truth, and then the injustice of the denigration of the deceased - that they were somehow at fault for their own deaths. So on behalf of the government, and indeed our country, I am profoundly sorry that this double injustice has been left uncorrected for so long."

Nothing politicians say will ever be enough. They never mean what they say. They only cover their arses. There's no way that thatcher will be able to cover hers.

At the Police Federation meeting, Chief Constable Peter Wright joined in and advised that the South Yorkshire Police case had to be pulled together. A "defence" had to be prepared, and a "rock solid story" be presented. Cheif Constable Wright believed that the Force would be "exonerated" by the Taylor inquiry, and considered that "blame" should be directed towards "drunken ticketless individuals".

Cameron has just covered her arse by stating that some documents couldn't be released due to the data protection act.

  11. I appreciate the words spoken by Cameron but I'm with RHC here. Everything they say is pre-written and planned. With the papers being released, what option did he have...? Still credit to him for finally providing an apology on behalf of the government and his party <ok>

Are we surprised PMK? No we're not, but this will raise such a stink that it will inevitably taint the evil slag. No cover up at that level could have been carried out without political sanction at the highest level. She took the opportunity to rub the collective noses of Liverpudlians in the dirt and enjoyed every minute of it. May she burn in hell.

The truth has been revealed. Now we want justice for those culpable. I hope there is an inquiry into those senior Police Officials, those at the S*n and Kelvin MacKenzie.

The connection between Thatchers government-the Hillsborough cover up-the Conservative government agenda against Liverpool due to Militant Labour will come out soon.

i am just glad that finally the families of those that sadly lost loved ones have answers.

I was 13 at the time this tragedy happened, who would have thought then it would take until i was 37 ffs for the truth to come out!!

I reckon Thatcher and her cronies will still get a whitewash job tbh. But we all know what a cow she was not only in this but in almost everything she did so we won't be fooled.
I only hope that the guilty parties in the police and that worthless rag get some measure of justice meted out to them.
But I won't hold my breath.

However, the world now knows the fans weren't to blame and the families stance was vindicated so we finally get justice for the innocent, if not the guilty.

This dreadful tragedy has been made worse by the shameful attempt of the authorities to cover up their own appalling mistakes.
It will be a further travesty of justice if anyone in authority who is proven to have lied, or mislead investigations into the truth, should escape criminal prosecution, it's not too late for people to be held accountable.

The Sun newspaper has been condemned for it's coverage at the time, hopefully it will end up the same as the News of the World.

I hope to God that it does. All of this is what we knew already, but my God, the magnitude of the whole thing is staggering. Words fail me.
