My cousin was there that day, he said it was the most terrifying thing he'd been through. Just came away with cuts and bruises, but years later he found it hard to talk about.

Some gobshites still can't distinguish between 85 and 89 wishi, mainly because they don't want to and can't bare to let go of the stick to beat us with.

    From BBC front pages http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-the-papers-36147007

"It is notable that the Sun - still boycotted by many people in Liverpool over its coverage in the immediate aftermath of the Hillsborough tragedy - keeps its coverage of the inquest verdict for pages eight and nine. Its front page story reveals that David Cameron is using WhatsApp to communicate his EU campaign plans."

This is why the boycott is still relevant today despite all their crying that it was a different editor and they were only printing what they were told

That evil hater of the working classes might have ground the Yorkshire miners into the dust, but she couldn't prevent the people and the City of Liverpool from winning justice for the innocents who died that day. I just wish the bitch was alive and compus mentus enough to witness this. She would be very, very worried. JFT96 YNWA <ok>

That's why it was so easy to blame us for Hillsborough IMO; they looked at Heysel and immediately thought bang to rights. My memory of Heysel is a bit woolly as I was at college then, but from what I understand from someone I was tweeting there's some reasonable doubt to what exactly happened there. I suppose it's a bit late for an enquiry though and some of our lot went to jail over it.

Yeah, the haters like to think of 89 as some kind of payback to even things up for 85, in reality there were two very different reasons for both tragedies/disasters and those who died in 89 played no part in the terrible events at Heysel, but the 96 men, women and children's lives mean nothing to the haters, it's their horrible untimely deaths that are the food for them

What the evidence shows is that mr duckenfield started scheming his cover up less than an hour after opening the gates. the Police were out to cover there arses as peopel were still being taken out of the pens.

Irrespective of what idiots who don't bother look at one iota of the actual evidence the truth is there.

Ignore those idiots. Don't waste your energy on it.

Heysel is a separate and very different tragedy where theres a crumbling ground and direct actions of football fans leading to the deaths of 39 people.

To link the two does disservice to all concerned. It blindly refuses to see each individual as different and lumps everyone in together.

This is why its so low to link the two. If someone wants to discuss heysel do so about heysel. Those 39 football fans deserve the same respect and sorrow. the 600 injured deserve the same. 14 people were convicted of manslaughter and the police on site and officials did too. There is a different circumstance at play here were direct actions (I was 7 or 8 or all i know is what i read) of stone throwing, fence breaching and charging caused deaths.

That should be remembered and never forgotten.

Anyone using this to make light of a separate and unrelated issue of crushing due to the actions of the police and stadium officals should be seen for what they are. agenda driven low lives not worth the time or energy to rise to... as all they want is that rise.

Like all football fans of that era (been a Saint since 1958; not a lot of glory-hunting there!) we all knew, as Nick Hornby said in "Fever Pitch" that Hillsborough was a disaster waiting to happen. I had been living in Liverpool since the early 70's. I bloody hated the team (in that football sense of hating you, you know what I mean!) but loved the City. Even when I moved jobs I could only move half an hour from Liverpool as it was, and still is, my favourite City.

    Three points.

First, the cover up is the reason these sods should be banged up. I can forgive mistakes, even if they lead to tragedy, but the cover up is scandalous and makes you wonder what else can be covered up so conveniently to suit the Establishment.

Second. Linking this to Heysel shows a complete lack of understanding. Two mates of mine were there and described it as a "hooligans' wet dream". It should have been the turning point in the way matches are managed and the lessons were ignored. Instead UEFA blamed "The English Disease" and banned all English clubs. Like kids in school, ignorant fans could then blame Liverpool FC for this ban.

Third. I pondered last night whether, had this tragedy had been the death of fans of another club, whether the community would have responded as it has. The way not just the relatives of the 96 have fought, but been supported by the people of Liverpool is remarkable. I am proud to have lived in the City, and doff my cap to all scousers today. You're a bit special.

Wonderful words, mate. The last paragraph says an awful lot about the spirit and heart of the City. We never go quietly <ok>

And always did. Outside of Merseyside, nobody has been there more. It has been noted and won't be forgotten.
