Simeon last against derby for 2011 highlight. The place went, as Neullll Adams put it, "bananas". Can remember screaming to my friend I go with at about 93 minutes "WE WILL GET ONE MORE CHANCE WE ALWAYS DO!" followed by 26,000 people's lungs exploding. You could feel the ground literally shaking underneath you. Hugely emotionally powerful, what a goal.
Special mention for Russell Martin against ipswich. If anyone deserved to score against the scummers it was him. Let's. It forget he played pretty much a whole season with a debilitating illness, felt almost moved to tears when he slotted that one in, yet another legend in this squad.
It has to be Derby for me too, one of those moments that will stay with us forever. But there's an image that will always sum up this remarkable year for me, and that's Russell Martin in his pants. To be honest, the way things have gone this year (and before) it's a wonder Carrow Road isn't full of us dancing around in our smalls every week!
Both games tonking the Binners for me, but there were so many, so the highlite for me was the whole season!
If next Tuesday you happen to see someone being escorted from the ground wearing less then they should be, you'll know who!
I thought the match thread vs Liverpool was the highlight of 2011..... ....in all seriousness, promotion day at Portsmouth has to be the highlight. I just sat there absolutely lost for words, hardly daring to believe what had happened. 2011 - Vintage.
1. Man Utd being knocked out of the Champions League (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA the look of the glory-supporters' faces, Channel 5 awaits...) 2. Man Utd beaten 6-1 by their most hated rivals (revolution had arrived) 3. Arsenal demolished 8-2 (really they were THAT awful at the start of the season) 4. England beating Spain 1-0 (A massive response to all the pass-pass Barcelona-loving pundits) --- Norwich Related 1. Jackson's Goal: best and loudest celebrations I have ever been to at Carrow Road...simple. 2. Grant Holt's Header vs. Liverpool (Norwich stunned the pundits, Match of the Day ceased to call us "little norwich", and now make barely a mention of us) 3. Grant Holt vs. Everton: best technical norwich goal this year 4. Comeback vs. Blackburn: every fan spurred the team on, and once Johnson got his goal, and it was 3-2, the entire stadium knew that we would get the 3rd goal through sheer crowd passion!
