I still like the old badge, the one that is blue rather than blacked out. The current one is ok, but doesn’t promote a clear identity . It’s a bit wishy washy. Let’s see if some bright sparks can design something better. As for moving away fans and creating standing room only sections, what’s not to like about that

The one on the left has more elements from the Borough/City coat of arms so is perhaps more representative of the city. The middle one, which is the one I remember from childhood, looks like exactly what it is to me, something that looked modern in the late 70s but which hasn't aged well. A bit like the architecture of that period. The current one looks like the badge of a modern, forward-thinking football club to me, which is exactly what it was meant to do when it was introduced. That's the one that's stood the test of time better than any of the others for me.
You talking 90s branding here mate and it didn't matter when kit maker and sponsor were printing the same way. But they're not now. Simple as. Catch up our look left behind the times. That's weird! I don't even remotely recognise the one on the left! Its like I'm seeing that one for the first time I always liked the middle one, even though there's too much blue! The current one seems a little fussy, there's a little bit too much going on. Still like it though. I'd be interested to see what the new options look like.
Nah, go back to basics. Contemporary but cover the bases.screw the over detail so we're running around in massive sewen in badges that look and feel **** against current advances in the area. I am caught up thanks. Player issue kits and the versions that are sold to the public are very often different with the logos printed in a rubberized material on the player issue kit. I'll stand by my preference for a bit of decent embroidery on my 50 quid replica thanks. Having said that, if the delicate little flowers are so sensitive that they can't run for '15 miles every week' with a little bit of embroidery on their tops then frankly they don't have the minerals to play professional sport. If these 'advances' that you're on about are so great, why do they need to change the badge to make it easier to print. That's not an advance, that's looking for a cheaper way of doing things. It's not a fact that detail means bad branding at all. In fact if you look at any high end marque in any field they put a lot of effort in to getting the tiny details right. That's what sets them apart. The design of the badge is a matter of opinion but, as I said, the middle one was designed in the 70s and it looks that way, from font, to composition, to shape of the badge itself. I'm not against a badge revamp but there's nothing sentimental in not wanting to fix what ain't broke. Edit/Addendum: I agree that the patch that the badge is on currently looks ****. But, apart from one season with Umbro, that's only been the last two seasons. It's because it's cheaper to weave a patch and apply than it is to embroider the badge directly onto the kit, which is what happened earlier in the Adidas deal and under all other previous kit manufacturers since that badge was introduced (That season with Umbro aside and that was a design thing)
This is largely irrelevant, I believe, 'cos Stewy Donald said last night, on Skunk Radio, that the badge isn't going to be changed anyway, 'cos it's fecking brilliant as it is (the last bit isn't 'word for word') He also said that nothing would change without consulting us fans

Guessing you're not a runner!! I run in proper running kits and my nipples kill me in the long distances (half marathon plus) - Bit of embroidery on the chest would make it unbearable trust me! I've taken to buying some extra layer to wear over my nipples to stop them from bleeding!
