Ah, that paragon of business virtue and legendary donator to the Blair (New) Labour Party (no favors requested) Lakshmi Mittal.
Why trust one more than the other?

Exactly, could not agree with you more. However it's a big step on from there to getting involved with the Russians. Blair should in The Hague and the other lot banged up for what they are and what they've done.

    We don't need this ****.

    Indeed.

The irony is Imaz probably has some very good grounds for distrusting the Management Team but because he won't explain his reservations, it leads to suspicion and dis-belief.

We're stuck with it mate. None of these people bear looking at too closely, so beyond screaming at the TV on a regular basis, I've given up righteous anger. There isn't enough time to be angry and to enjoy life, which is a very selfish attitude I know, but wtf......

I wasn't agreeing with this post Uber, but when I got to the bit about Swansea being infinitely more entertaining last season my mouth nearly fell out of my face! Did you see Swansea last season - they must have been a very strong contender for the most boring team ever to have played in the PL.

Let me clear up some confusion that's creeping in here

I'm speaking about my feelings and no one else in the 'out' crowd

Nowhere have I said that Hughes should be sacked. Far from it, I want him to succeed.

However can anyone here tell me what Hughes style of play is? What his tactics are?

4-5-1 at home v Swansea? 4-4-2 away at norwich?
Tarabt? Wont play him in an attacking line up, won't play him in a defensive one either? No wonder (although I do not condone it) that he went home on the train

I have yet to hear Hughes put his hands up to a bad decision, it is always down to the players yet many here seem happy to accept 'promises' about never being in a relegation fight again despite taking a mere 2 points out of 33 on the road? God help us

I want the bloke to succeed with my club however I personally feel he masquerades as a manager by carrying a big support network, endlessly signing big name players and hoping for the best.

Remember we only stayed up thanks to stoke. That's the reality

Ill give him time , I have no other choice but I fear it will not go well despite all of the meaningless 'promises'

You can judge Hughes based on last year but only in the context of what he was tasked to do - namely keep us up. He did this. Just. Stoke/Bolton didn't do it - we had more points than them. Simple as.

Should we have expected more; an O'Neil style resurgence? That was nipped in the bud by a sending off I seem to recall that put us instantly on the back foot again.

A run that took us up the table would have done what exactly? Allowed us to attract a better quality of player. I'm pretty sure that we've done that regardless. This is primarily due to the backing and vision of TF and the sale of the vision by Hughes.

His legacy from last year is the short term acquisitions that kept us up - Cisse's flawed brilliance, Zamora - top scorer this season and Diakite. Not bad by my reckoning.

So the purchases have been fair to good (including the bulk of this year's). Mistakes have been made (Green particularly) but you can't expect to overtake the natural evolution of the club (ie hoping we improve league standing and staff gradually year on year) without a few test tubes of groaning mutants.

We're fast tracking ourselves and, rightly, expectations have jumped too.

We shouldn't forget the mass comings and goings that have put us in our current position - one that Hughes believes will set us up for the future without risking our current Premiership status.

That will take time but TF will not settle for 17th in December again. Hughes won't either. They know the demands of the fans and sponsors and the risks inherent in underperforming.

3 games is not enough to judge (and Hughes should get judged) but we need to expect progress rather than instant success.

Amongst my personal reasons to be upbeat would be the one touch passing triangles against City that they themselves would have been proud of, Nelsen's emergence as our rock at the back, a playing staff that is probably the best I've know at the club and.... a manager with a history for top 10 finishes (good stats BTW Judo).

    Uber - count me in.

Dont forget they are comparing him to world class managers and he had some players like Robinho bough for him.
Its a bit like us saying DJ is not good enough but he will do a fantastic job for a NPC side.

I don't think to judge within three weeks is particularly fair. We'll have a better idea on whether Sparky's tactics/style really works by the time we get to late Nov. Let's reserve judgement until then. Think about the environment that he has had to contend with, although we all feel that he has missed some fundamentals in defence, the coup of Caesar was extremely late. The performance won't improve until there is some demonstrable passion and desire to succeed within the team and management. Not convinced that Hughes can instill the passion though! However, as the "extra man on the pitch" we can certainly get behind the team every week just as we did in the latter stages of last season, remember it did make a difference in the R's staying up. It's up to us too...........

The team needs "gelling" according to many experts, if Hughes can get a consistent line up out then we the voice of QPR can provide the glue that will make them stick together and perform as a unit. If it all goes wrong by end of Nov and we're still in the bottom five, I'll be one of those hoping for a change.

Is it not a fact that Swansea received (and continue to receive) compliments and plaudits for their style of play? I respect (and to some extent) agree with your opinion that passages (yes, passages) of their play can be boring, but please don't tell me that the greater response was anything other than complimentary towards them. Further, it can be no accident that both Swansea and Norwich lost their managers as a direct consequence of their 'success'.

P.S. Please don't let your mouth fall out of your face - sounds horrible.

That's fine. So will I. What I said I wouldn't do is call for his head, which was the general point of this thread.

I said "at least three defeats in a row", not judge in three weeks, ten games or 30 years. At least three defeats in a row.
