Hammer, that was a tad factious don't you think? Don't act or be dumb, of course the owner can demand and enforce a playing style, he simply ineffably can and does. He leaves the how to the manager. To try and ridicule my post with fatuous lampooning imagery highlights your lack of comprehension. Either say you disagree or not but don't make yourself look mean while doing it. It does you no favours and will weaken how people perceive any future opinion you offer later. They won't take you seriously as they'll see you haven't addressed what they've said and you'll end up isolated. Oh wait, that's exactly what you tried to do to me. Tough luck son.

I don't agree that basing a team around defensive football is wrong. It is the very basis of attacking football, it is where the 8 nils come from. Yes you get 0-0 draws and 1 nil wins but that is because there are two teams out there trying to win. If you want sport you play like it , sportingly and you learn to live with the big defeats (this is Roman's dilemma), but if you a successful business you have to deliver at all cost and that means winning. If you want the most successful business you can that take a risky business strategy you demand the company produces higher quality goods at a lower cost price (this is Roman's strategy, but he hasn't figured out how to lower costs).

Beaten at Arsenal's own game? What is Arsenal's own game? Oh yes! Not winning trophies. When Arsenal were great, when Arsenal won leagues and cups it was due to a defensive methodology, A great keeper (Jennings and after) the back four, the step forward, the hand in the air, the Arsenal line dance. Man. U have consistent success from the back. You buy and use the fancy dan's because you have that backline solid.

So many rubbish comments on post boards stem from supporters believing that everything comes from what only their team do or do not do and that somehow the other side can be ignored or and in factored into the equation. Sometimes, very rarely, it filters through and you see comments like "fair play to them", " their keeper played a blinder." , and "I wish we signed him when we had the chance.". I feel the Chelsea owner and board believe the same. They feel as business men it all come down to the choices they make and not what the other companies are doing.

I do think Roman is a football fan, but by his very nature he knows only one way to run a club. I think he does know that delegation is the key, but loses sight of it as from his personal experience the hands on approach has what has worked for him when things got rocky. So we get these mixed messages of the club saying one thing and and us seeing another thing happen. My approach is to not worrying about it. I'm a fan of Chelsea oppps sorry a consumer. I can take my money elsewhere if I want to trade my loyalty to the brand. That would be my down to me.
