It would be interesting to hear the thoughts of some other business people who've dealt with Allam over the years. Is his behaviour always like this?
I am now of the belief he's just on a massive wind up and knows exactly what he's doing. He'll come out at the end of the year, withdraw the name change, open up the Hull City AFC museum and release a Wise men say cover on itunes.
I'm not saying they are the same person but has anyone ever seen them in the same room? Maybe all those swamp gasses have gone to his head? Mind you I've never heard or seen Yoda act like such a twerp. The little green fella had a bit more class.
I don't normally post, I just add comments to others, but I just have to personally comment on this. We get back into the Premier League and instead of letting the fans enjoy it awhile Mr Allam announces he intends to change the name of the team. Absolutely ruins the good feeling we should be having. Today we apparently massively break the club transfer fee for a striker and he announces he will quit the club if he can't change the name. Wtf is he on. He is a PR nightmare.
My family has done a lot of business in Libya for many years (so apparently any decision we make can't be questioned...) and most arab businessmen are like him to a degree although not many are quite so ridiculous.
“Powerful you have become, the dark side I sense in you.” as Yoda might say to Allam, if they weren't the same person.
“Soon will I rest, yes, forever sleep. Earned it I have. Twilight is upon me, soon night must fall.” Yoda Til I Die
That's beautiful. Not sure if you've made that up or you can randomly quote Star Wars characters but either way I'm impressed.
Exactly my thoughts. Bruce must be throwing his hands up in despair. How much further can he be pushed trying to steady the ship every time Allam has an outburst. Bruce would have a much easier ride at another club and after the way he has got us playing this season ti can't be long before another club come after him. I would love to like Mr Allam and to applaud him for what he has done but I actually cannot stand him. Everytime he has an angry petulant outburst I dislike him more and more. When he told the fans they could have a refund on their season pass I wrote to the club explaining that I still wanted to support the team but that did not mean I supported the name change. It was a very polite letter in which I thanked Allam for his investment etc. I have not received so much as an acknowledgement of "thank you we received your letter". People say we would be nowhere without his money but he would be nowhere without the supporters. We are his customers and I just don't understand how he can speak to us the way he does and disregard our opinion the way he does. Then to try a spot of blackmail so he can get his own way is absolutely diabolical, surely everyone can see that. How on earth does that look to any players wanting to join the club. Absolutely unbelievable.
thats how i originally thought when i heard of his latest outbusrt But on hearing other peoples thoughts there are those that will be scared of what will happen to the club if he carries out the threat , which will recruit heavily from the silent majority RH may well not broadcast a true representation of the fans POV but up until 630 all were accepting that Allam can do his deed. the NO campaign has only one statistic to fear and that is by allowing those abstaining votes to be counted as "i dont mind eitherway" coz thats how i'd see it on any vote. Didnt the vast majority of voters at the OSC abstain ?
