We might have the cheapest tickets (we are in Hull so it should be the cheapest due to low wages, less jobs etc) but we are still not selling the place out. Maybe it is due to the segregation but maybe some of it is due to the prices still being too high. he needs to address that before trying to get all the yingtongs to buy shirts FFS.
Whoah, whoah....stop right there. My 'jaundiced shoite' is the same as 'your jaundiced shoite' or anyone else's on here. If I think Di Canio is a victim of the PC metrosexual media I will say so. If someone posts a 'Nelson Mandela has done one' thread and I think the BBC's 3 hour live bulletin is OTT , I will say so (especially when my journey home has been diverted due to flooding in Hull city centre). Get used to it, it's called a forum. There are enough attention-seekers, stalkers, cliques etc on here without anyone starting a 'high horse ' brigade.
It gets funnier because only last week I got the complete opposite from someone who actually works there in a very senior staff position.
Maybe, hear me out, now maybe, i hope i don't lose you all here, bare with me, maybe... different people have different opinions on the guy?
Assem Allam has abided by the rules laid down by the FA from day one. He very much wants a successful football club and he is indeed abiding by all the rules. He has made an application to change the name of the football club and has followed the correct procedure. You describe his statement as throwing his toys out of the pram if he doesn't get his own way. I see this slightly differently to you. I agree that this outburst? has nothing to do with Hull City/Tigers fans and is indeed more to do with the governing body. I don't think he has a negative attitude toward the governing body and I have a feeling they do not have a negative attitude towards him. Are they going to let Assem Allam tell them how to run their business? The million dollar question. I will ignore the million dollar question remark as in football terms a million dollars will just about buy you a centre half with a crocked knee. Are they going to let Assem Allam tell them how to run their business? As far as I can see he is not attempting to tell them how to run their business/governing body in any way shape or form. He has put in his application and is awaiting the outcome with interest just like the rest of us. The question which is more pertinent to Mr Allam is. Will the governing body obstruct him from running his business the way he sees fit, within the bounds of all rules and regulations of the governing body? The only reasons the FA could turn this application down are emotional ones and emotion does not pay bills or wages. Assem Allam could well be the poster boy for the FA's perfect owner. If the FA do not want this type of owner they will turn him down and he will rightly(imo) withdraw his support from Hull City football club and by proxy the FA. I have no doubt in my mind that the application will be approved.
Should the FA turn this application down they would in effect be turning down the right of the football club I love to progress further up the football league structure then they already have. A dangerous path for the governing body to tread imo.
