Now to deal with Cattermole - the captain who doesn't want to play for us any more, and isn't going to leave a penny behind
I think we may miss him . Bit like us Brits not having any bad weather anymore , what will we moan about ?
As a "Cattermole fan from eons past" I'm going to say I partly agree - but I want him gone too! One thing that hasn't ever sat right with me (in my almost 37 years watching the lads) is when we get relegated (be it from the top division or the second tier), p[lyers always seem to think they have a divine tright to play at a highler level - surely if they had that right then they'd have stopped us from sinking to the lower tiers? Think Catts is going to be a tough one to shift mind - he's on a good wedge at SAFC. Donald said him, Rodwell and Oviedo are our 3 top earners - and 2 of the three should have their futures decided within the week (he all but said it'd be Oviedo and Rodwell) - one's gone - 2 to go
Agreed My concern about Catts is his influence in the dressing room on the new players. He needs shifting quickly
Thing is I've spoken to a few of the academy lads and they love him. Say he's brilliant to be around and seems an all round good influence. As I say I can only speak from when I've chatted with some of the academy lads who are involved where my lad plays footy and he's highly thought of. by them. That said, it may be because he's taught them how best to make more money by doing less!!
There seems to be a general assumption that Catts is one of the problems at the Club. It's true that he was said to be one of the Senior Players responsible for PdC's removal but I suspect that this was just an excuse used by Short to get rid of what had become a PR nightmare for SAFC. It's also fair to say that while much of what PdC said was forward thinking, his mam management skill were based in the dark ages. Whatever his deficiencies in the skill or decision making department I'll give him full credit for always putting a shift in and leading, by example and from the front. If there was one of the old guard to stay, I'd like it to be him.
Mam management haha, you're right that it's not a known fact that he had anything to do with Di Canio's sacking but the rumours were strong at the time and I don't see why Short would have needed to start them. Yes he does put a shift in but so did Altidore, it's not enough for me his legs look to have gone. I personally want as few remnants from the utter failure of the last regime as possible lingering around the club and especially ones who offer as little as Catts does these days.
Love my Skoda. My second Fabia, first one took me up and down the country including doing 37,000 miles one year (yes you read that correctly).
I think that's called 'guilt by association. please log in to view this image (And the other old banger has his name on the back of his shirt!!!!)
Whatever folk think off Catts, he's part of old guard responsible for some of the worst football in our history, Regardless of what he may and may not have done, he has been ****e the last 3 years(ever since Yann and Jan showed him what proper DMs look like), he has overseen 2 relegations and about 6 relegation fights, he is one of our top earners, he is too slow for Professional football. He needs to go asap
Perfect summary. See ya Catts. The door will hit you in the way out coz you’re too slow, just leave the money with the club. You ain’t earned it.
