    Brendan Rodgers has been sacked.
Next time will be his second.

Louis Van Gaal has been sacked twice and resigned twice :)

Please tell me what exactly is wrong with what he's saying? Swansea are a small premier league club, getafe is a small primera divison team. So if no bigger clubs approach him he'll most likely choose a team out of europe. That is a very fair thing to say, it's his life he can do what he wants?

Agree with jonas and ivor - cannot find anything in what he is saying that is arrogant or insulting - he is being totally honest. He has managed small clubs (yes, we are a small club) and doesn't feel the need to travel that route again. He is just saying that if he was to return to management it would need to be a new challenge; either a 'big' club, or one outside of Europe - where is the arrogance there?

    So, to be clear....
None of the Laudrup detractors are even going to try and come up with 1 name of a manager who has achieved as much with small clubs?

    Interesting that.
There must be somebody with a better CV out there than somebody as laughable as Laudrup, shouldn't there?

The reason I think laudrup may be being ever so slightly stupid looking in his comments is that according to wales online, his " massive" club appears to be in quatar!

I also agree, he said coaching is a job and at the moment he doesn't need a job. So the only jobs he would take ate big ones.

"That leaves me with two options: to wait for an offer from a big club or accept one of the offers I have received from clubs outside Europe." - Michael Laudrup

I guess we all have different opinions of what constitutes "stupid".

Lack of class is how Laudrup was treated, not just by us . If he finally finds a team that actually supports him , I expect huge success for him and the team that are respectful to his authority

Only the smaller clubs are interested. I rest my case. You'll have a very long wait Michael.

What's wrong is that he's arrogant enough to think he's good enough for a big club when he's not. The fact is that no big club wants him. Of course it's his right to hope if he wants. But it's like a minimum wage guy holding out for a CEO position when he has no hope of getting that job.

Laudrup is probably kicking himself he didnt talk to Chelsea ,Spurs and PSG now . Your dammed if you do and dammed if you dont in this game. He stayed here to remain loyal to his signings,he signed a contract extension because the club wanted him to ,he turned down better offers to spear head our Euro campaign, and his reward was getting sacked .

The problem with many Swans fans is that they are extremely Parochial, Laudrup doing well=best in the world, scared that he will leave . Laudrup doing poor = **** manager, massive ego, crap signings etc.

Because Laudrup never kissed arse to the faithful and remained buisness like because he wasnt going to spend his career here people tend to stick the knife in extra quick.

Im not losing any sleep over the issue, neither is multi millionaire Laudrup , but im sure that he learned it doesnt pay to have moral standards and contractual loyalty. If he had left when hot, we would have been calling him all the judas scum names going, but he stayed to push the project further,it didnt work out and his reward was to be bladed by old has beens like Monk and to be sacked via text message .

Monk is the man in control now , he has my full support , Laudrup is History and will always be Historic for Swansea<cup win).

The whole last season was a shambles from all concerned, from May onwards all we had was negative stories and talk of bust ups, i hope the club and laudrup take something from it at least.

Onwards and upwards now and with Monk in control we are rolling the biggest dice in years, all we can do is support him and wish the best for him .

Laudrup is stating his ambition: he wants to manage a big club - if not, he doesn't want to manage a club. Nothing arrogant about that. No matter what anyone says, we're not decisiontakers (thankfully), some will decide against Laudrup and some might take him into concideration for a club with a trophy-winning potential. And those clubs do NOT include Getafe, Granada, Southampton or Swansea...

Exactly...I bet he regretted saying such an arrogant thing 5 minutes after he said it.<laugh> He aint half made himself look silly now especially as no big club will touch him with a barge pole...Serves him right as he should have come down of his high horse and managed the club properly....Lekhwiya...OMG...<laugh>

No one think someone wanting to manage a PL club without help when they were:
    • unqualified
    • completely inexperienced in management at any level
    • giving it large how the team he inherited was not good enough
    • accusing his player of cowardice on TV to cover his own ass
A little more arrogant than a manager with significant experience and achievement at a certain level wanting to move on to a slightly higher level, especially when he has much experience at the highest level as a player and is lucky enough to be in the position to wait for such an opportunity should it arrive.

Or indeed as said Bony wanting CL.

As pointed out Laudrup never even mentioned Southampton nor I think CL
In fact as far as I can see he never mentioned the word "big" or "small" in his direct quote in Politiken this has just been misquoted from the heading. He actually refers to "smaller" and "bigger" which are very different things (given the second smallest team in the world is bigger than the smallest; and the second biggest smaller than the biggest).

The thing I really liked about Laudrup was his modesty and respect for others. Even when he got off to such a wonderful start for us (despite him changing the style and bringing in some great players) he modestly gave credit to the work of the previous managers and said he was just tinkering. He also reminded us there would also be difficult times. Seems a shame some were willing to bask in his glory but saw a time of major injuries as a career opportunity rather than a time to get behind the manager. When we shamefully sacked him in such an disrespectful way.

The comments on those sites include the orchestrated lies and slurs that Huw asked to stop. Shame on those for treating a decent and honest person who gave us amazing achievement in such a manner. I am sure Laudrup no longer cares but it diminishes us as a club, making us look really "small" time. No wonder he wants to move on to something different.

Properly as defined by the rookie Monk who publicly criticises his player for cowardice rather than take the blame himself (as Laudrup did for Monk at Liverpool).

He was sacked he had no choice...<laugh> His ego rules him and his arrogance shows no bounds....what the hell has he done to warrant a big club ever wanting him..His CV is not very good and even if i credited him with half a season he was still very poor for a season and a half... Where the hell do his managerial experience stand up of that of top managers that took small clubs and worked their socks off to get them noticed and are now at the top. you never heard them saying a club is to small and i will only take a big club......That is arrogance of the highest order however you try to dress it up.....and now he finds himself somewhere with a team that quite frankly most people have never heard of and in a league no better than the LOW.....How is that bettering himself.....He is a fool with a far to big ego to ever manage a big club and the quicker he learns that the better it will be for him as its teams like us and the saints or any small club playing at the highest level that are the stepping stones to big clubs...ask Brendan and Martinez that....
