I think it depended on what area you were from. London was clear, other than a dusting, the further South you went the worse it got. Not helped in some areas by rain then freezing, which in turn caused South Eastern to cancel trains except those going into Ebbsfleet on the high speed (over head cables). Those coming South out of London are pretty much knackered if the transport structure fails and leaves people stranded before their destination.

Then you get stupid people that state colder countries cope with far worse conditions but that's because there financial budget has to account for it, the UK are not going to spend any where near the same level of money when the problem will be gone within a week.

I saw a TV interview where a Swedish family were trying to get home, they were asked how this compared to what they get, the response was this is probably worse than they get!

Yes . I live in BH22 and rang work to say I would not be in because of the A31 being shut . Then I went outside and It was thick black ice covering everything !

I could not even have reached the A31 if I tried .

Never seen it before , may never see it again ,crazy to budget for things like that IMHO . and it was all over ( here anyway ) in about 48 hours .

Well they should, it's not like they don't rob enough ****ing money off us to afford what they need, ****s

Central govt do for sure. But then they can go and spend that on Trident submarines or a new aircraft carrier or a sweetener for the DUP.

But it would be down to local councils to budget for snow equipment and that would mean a massive hike in your council tax.

We don't play OAP homes. You do know that, right, Stan?

It's a pub gig, tonight. It'll be fairly busy in there, I reckon, as people will want to get out after having been snowed in for a couple of days.
How many young folk hang out at Conservative clubs?

Look! I don't wear that wizard's hat (which, incidentally, has hair attached to it). That was done as a joke around Halloween time, one year.

I'll be wearing my usual black leather hat. It's kinda my trademark.

I'm known on the local circuit as The Hat.

I doubt you boys will be able to find anything at all amusing about that.
<whistle>
Your nickname is well known amongst the pded.

All due respect mate, bollocks to that.

As you say there's money there for trident, foreign aid, and a whole heap of other unnecessary things were told are necessary.

It's bollox, there's money and ducking plenty of it too, just not for me and you, it's not for us, we just earn it.<laugh>

You both have a valid point , I think however that IF we had all the snow ploughs etc ready , fuelled up and good to go during the winter , it would be the local council that would have to fund it .

They will not pay that money , because they are not given it . I agree that in my area it would be a waste anyway .

It depends on which club you're talking about.

Anyway, we're not playing a club tonight.

Last post from me, as I have to get cracking. I'll catch everyone later.

It's a really nice pub to listen to music in , saw the BOC there , really close :)

You will have recognised one of their tracks from a link I posted, yesterday.
<ok>

We used to play Don't Fear The Reaper, including the middle bit and guitar solo, which doesn't appear on the radio edit.

Do me a favour and tell me what page your link is on . I went through this entire thing , not doing it again !

Will have a look later .

eForget the snow ploughs, we are bum rimmed financially by the government end of.

I'm not an accountant or a pig in a suit, I dont need to be to know that the money put into this country vs the money created and taken from the people is vastly out of balance.

the funniest part of the whole charade is every 4 or so years the worker ants get to think they can change things by voting for the same beast in a different dress.

George knows
