Plymborn - you talk about Fletcher's thoughts re Wotton's return. Presumably Fletcher would have had SOME input into his signing! If not Fletcher, then who did sign him up?
There are also accusations that he's racist and that he got Bolasie sent off when we played Yeovil - presumably these are connected. Given the level of bias in the average football fan, I'm inclined to take that with a large pinch of salt. If he'd been playing for Argyle and it was an opponent sent off, the identical circumstances would have produced the opposite comments. Also, much of the adverse comment seems to come from teenage kids too young to have seen him at his best and whose current poster pin-up boys may be displaced if he gets a game. None of us know him personally and what I saw in the field was a competitive and combative player who, it's true, may not have suffered fools who didn't try as hard gladly. Given some of the limp performances we've put in over the past few years, that can be no bad thing. This is far from being a guaranteed success - his age is there and he has a lot to live up to in very difficult circumstances. I want it to succeed but I'm not at all sure it will. What I do know is that if he rattles a few cages amongst any less committed brethren at the club, I won't lose any sleep.
This is why I love this site everyone has differing opionions on Wotton's return but no one gets castrated because of how they feel
I guess we won't know what impact he will have until after tomorrow-presumably he will play and I look forward to seeing him again,it will be interesting watching the body language of the players during the game.Must say I feel slightly reassured with the thought of Wotton commanding midfield and Purse taking charge of the back four.Ok both men are 34 but Purse looks very fit to me for his age.We are seriously weak currently in midfield.Spoke to several Gulls fans I know after their double over us.They all said our midfield was poor,Feeney was useless and Berry was excellent so food for thought.
More significant than what we think, someone who knows him..... nick chadwick @chaddy1982 15h Reply Retweet Favorite · Open Welcome bk Wottsie!! Gat-Po please don't talk about castration on happy friendly 606.........we're not into being vindictive.............it just makes my eyes water and I can't see my keys at the thought of it.
Well I know he is an old romantic given what he said about New Years Eve tradition in his household but he isn't Lasarus is he. Unless he's married to an Indian Snake Charmer that is. The thought of castration doesn't worry me. I went under the knife after our third was born which is why I still walk with a lisp. My wife said it was either that or she would do the full operation herself. It was the savage smile on her face at the time that persuaded me.
It was worse than that joe. Wotton did ok today. He played in front of the back four and allowed Walton to play further up the park. Walton scored two so it obviously works. Wotton didn't rip up trees or anything but you could see the passion and the number of leaders on the park has improved. Burton were deservedly beaten today and they were 8th.
