Well whatever it is, tea leaves, crystal ball at Hull Fair, he's Keanes godfather, voices in his head. He needs to stop it and see ****ing sense.
That is the total crux of Saturdays debacle. Nobody in there right mind would do that. Its unforgivable.
Oh ffs. Bruce used to drop him and play Aluko on his own. At one point in the 2012/13 promotion season when Aluko and Simpson were the first picks he dropped them both and played Proschwitz and McLean together away at Boro after one bad game. Pearson dropped Fryatt when he had a bad run. Brown used to play Garcia and ***an as strikes sometimes. We all used to call for JVoH and Altidore as a two and always seemed to get some other combination that season. Fact is all managers do this and it's ridiculous to pretend not. Maybe in Italy or whatever you can carry a lazy striker who scores tap ins but not in England. Guardiola didn't play Aguero away at Barca last week. It happens up and down the country every bloody week yet people on here are making out it's the shock of the century.
He's played 6.3 games worth of minutes this season (537 minutes played / 90 = 6.3). You'd like to think your 20 goal a season striker would score more than that in that amount of time.
It's well documented he doesn't suit the lone striker role and that's the system we've gone with. No idea why. Play him with a support striker and you'll see him scoring goals.
He may well do if you've got Lionel Messi playing with him. But who is going to supply him with an extra 12-15 goals this season?
We looked a completely different team when he came on with a strike partner on Saturday, we need to play to his strengths, not stick him in a position he can't play.
